Does a cease-fire in Ukraine make Trump Nobel-worthy?

It appears that things are happening wrt a cease-fire in Ukraine.

Is it that Biden thought that Ukraine could defeat Russia on the battlefield, given enough resources? And that Zelensky realized that he will never gain a military resolution without US support, so he’s going to take the best deal he can get?

And god forbid that the Nobel committee would see Trump’s role as worthy of consideration for a Nobel Peace Prize, but I’m sure it will be discussed. I will literally puke.

Ukraine can never “defeat” Russia but, as happened to the USSR in Afghanistan and the US in Afghanistan and the US in Vietnam and Korea it can happen that it is just too much expense and trouble to keep fighting so the locals “win” when the invaders give up.

I doubt Ukraine will ever get their lost territory back though.

I do not see how that makes Trump “Nobel worthy.” Of course, the Nobel committee can do whatever they want. I didn’t think Obama was Nobel worthy either.

No to the question and it’s a damp squib…Putin made the dumpf a laughing stock.

Neither did Obama think that …to his credit.

I would however heartily endorse if it came with the dumpfs resignation.

Chamberlain didn’t win a Nobel Peace prize. What Trump did was pretty similar; he sold out a small country to a bigger country.

Has a Nobel ever been retracted ???

Nope. It is not possible:

US warmonger Henry Kissinger won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 for negotiating a ceasefire in Vietnam, so anything is possible.

Not if he keeps threatening NATO and babbling about wanting to conquer half of the western hemisphere.

The corollary is that when anyone else is named, The Tan Conman will hrumph and fume that he’s being cheated because those ingrate Swedes always hated him for no reason.

The only thing threatening to give the dumpf apoplexy would be Putin getting it,

Even better: Zelensky gets it.

Fortunately, I think it’s too late to nominate Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize this year. But not too late for someone to have already nominated Joe Biden, which I am hoping someone did, just to see Trump’s head explode were Biden to win.

In order to be considered for the award of the year, nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize shall be sent in to the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo before the 1st day of February the same year.

Or Zelensky and Rubio getting it. That would make Trump furious.

And get Rubio fired.

Given all his other reprehensible actions just two months into his disastrous administration filled with criminals and yokels, given his pressure tactics against Ukraine, including voting with Russia against a UN resolution condemning the Russian invasion, and given his obsequious relationship with Putin which guarantees that any ceasefire will be entirely in Russia’s favour (and probably short-lived), I make the following prediction:

The Orange Felon will get the Nobel Peace Prize at about the same time that a flock of pigs flies overhead in a graceful formation while singing a vivacious rendition of a da capo aria from Handel’s Messiah. And not a moment sooner.

It’s basically absolutely guaranteed that Trump, and Biden, and Zelenskyy, and Putin, have all been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. It’s really easy to be nominated for a Nobel. The list of people eligible to nominate someone for the Nobel Peace Prize includes any member of the legislature or cabinet-equivalent body of any nation, and any college professor of political science, ethics, philosophy, or sociology. Nominations mean nothing (and keep that in mind when Republicans start talking about how Trump’s been nominated, because you can be sure they will).

No, because it’s meaningless. Russia just regards ceasefires as a means of getting off the first shot when (not if) they break it.

I think it ludicrous that Trump should be nominated for any Nobel Prize.
However he clearly deserves Hero of the Russian Federation - Wikipedia.

Absolutely not, not, not, not, not.

If Trump gets a Nobel for a ceasefire that is nothing but a blatant cover to let Russia kill and maim at will, it ought to permanently destroy the credibility of the Nobel committee.

I’d bet money someone has.

Sure that’s possible. But the February deadline means that the ceasefire could not be cited as the basis.
