Re: Meat flavored chips, Frito-Lay occasionally makes some novelty Dorito flavors like “Taco” and “Late Night Cheeseburger” that have meat flavoring but they never seem to last long before getting cycled out. If there was a cry for cheeseburger flavored chips as anything but a novelty, I’d imagine they’d be available on a constant basis.

If anyone is interested in Potato Chip manufacture here is a podcast about how they are manufactured, marketed, and merchandised. The technology they use to get rid of bad chips is amazing. It involves high speed cameras and puffs of air.

Consumer choice is wonderful, except when stores offer choices that their shelf space can’t accommodate. More choices means fewer items of each in stock, which means more stock-outs, which means that I can’t buy simple things like 24-ounce bottles of Diet Pepsi because somebody else snapped up the other three six-packs. And there’s no room for any more, because the store has to carry 100 other flavors, each of which must come in diet, caffeine-free, and diet caffeine-free.
So yeah, America “needs” fewer soft drink brands. Or bigger grocery stores. Or more frequent vendor deliveries. Because I want my goddamn Diet Pepsi, and I want it caffeinated, and I want it now.
Sea Salt and Vinegar chips for me. People usually react badly when they try first time but then they almost always end up coming back and eating all my chips. I must have it.
