The first time I voted was the '76 vote between Jimmy Carter & Gerald Ford. I sincerely voted for Pat Paulson.
I hate big government.
I hate paying taxes so that others can get a free ride.
I hate people trying to screw with the Bill of Rights.
I hate idiots who think Satan invented the internal combustion engine, yet still ride around in automobiles.
Therefore, I hate Gore.
Bush? I’m indifferent about Bush.
Gore.
What I know for sure, is that I cannot stand Gore’s “Go the way the wind blows” mentality, and for that matter, his Robin Hood belief that the US should “Take from the rich and give to the poor.”
It is REALLY EASY to spend a budget surplus on welfare, bigger government (i.e. GOVT HMO), and targeted tax-cuts.
The difficult thing to do is to tear down government beauracracy once it is set in place…it takes deep root and is almost impossible to wipe out further down the road.
Therefore, Bush is the better choice for me…Plus, he’s not a sniveling little brat during debates and news interviews!
But then again, Gore really can kiss the s*** out of Tipper! Hmmmm…I think I change my mind!
Not for president.
Two more scenarios:
1: V. Putin after first summit meeting with President Gore,“What an obnoxious jerk, constantly sighing and interupting, telling made up stories about his family, I never want to be in the same room with him again. In fact to make sure of that I’ll nuke the U.S”
2: Every day for the next 4 years.
Someone rushes out of the Oval Office yelling, “Someone call a doctor President Gore has fallen into a coma!”
“No, he is always like that”
I like Bush. His stump speeches are pretty darn good. If people heard those before hearing all of the tales of his supposed stupidity from the media I reckon he’d have a better intelligence standing in a lot of peoples minds.
I have trouble picturing Gore as president sitting in an owner’s box at a Redskins game, so it’s safe to say I really can’t see him as the leader of the free world.
George W. Bush has never revealed where he got one dime of the vast sums in his campaign chest.
Of course, not using Federal matching funds, he is not required to.
But, unless he does, he will never get my vote.
Sometimes I like to see a little bush or gore when I watch a movie; sometimes I don’t.
But Reagan was almost killed.
If the Democrats get elected, and Algore falls victim to the curse, then there’ll be a Jew[sup]1[/sup] in charge of making peace in the middle east!
[sup]1[/sup]–No racism, bigotry, or offense of any kind intended. Just an interesting thought.
What does liking either of them have to do with who you vote for? This isn’t a popularity contest for president of your high school class. Vote for the one you think will be the best at handling the demands the office.
That’s like choosing a car just because it looks good. And who does that?
Diver
well if you voted for who you thought would do the best you wouldent even consider voting for bush or gore.
Okay, get out the flame-throwers…
After intensive reading (hey, I’m a research animal), yeah, I do like Gore.
So much of the process is posturing and handling. It’s damned hard to figure out exactly what–if anything–someone invisions. We’re electing an executive, not a god.
I hold Nader and Reagan in equal contempt: they’re both figureheads rather than effective leaders. Nader is an unworkable flake; Reagan was a brainless figurehead, the host of GE Theater for big biz. They’re both dweebs.
Bush is a ferret-faced frat-rat who’s (understandably) coasted his way to prominence on the coat-tails of big business–the true welfare–and hype.
Gore is a “fortunate son” too, but he’s a driven offspring of privilege. He has the charisma of concrete, but a foundation of granite. So he plays the hype game; it’s necessary.
The President is an executive, not a televangelist or a talk show host. Bush is a joke; a very bad, dangerous joke. Gore plays the game–awkwardly but gamely–but at least he has substance.
Tired of cant,
Veb
If a foundation of granite is based upon a reaction to the most recent polls, then I would agree.

But Reagan was almost killed.
So was Jerry Ford, and he was never even elected. Plus, Zachary Taylor was elected in 1848 and he died in office, as well. This curse nonsense is no guarantee
As to a “Jew in the White House,” this is only interesting vis-à-vis Israel policy. The United States’ Israel policy has been pretty embarrassing and it’s been handled largely by Protestants, but that’s neither here nor there. I see no guarantee that Gore will die in office.
I like Bush.
He’s like the drunk uncle I never had.
