Does anyone else on the Dope watch Jersey Shore?

I know most of us only turn on our TVs for Masterpiece Theater when we need a break from our Vivadi/Mozart iTunes playlists, but . . .

I love this show. It’s so addictive. Right now I’ve only watched eps 1-4 of Season 2 and the latest ep of season 2 to air (ep 9?), but I’m totally hooked. I don’t think you can really be spoilered on this show, so I think we can feel free to discuss any episodes . . .

I’m finding Sammi/Ronnie really annoying right now. He is such a jerk, but worse, she just keeps falling for it and trailing around after him like a little puppy. She needs to grow a backbone.

I’m really liking JWwow, but my favorite character is by far Vinnie. He seems so normal compared to the rest of them . . .

Yes. This show is my guilty pleasure. It’s so horrible I just have to watch it.

Yep. I started watching the first season as a guilty pleasure and just had to keep up with the second season.

Second season is not nearly as good as the first (Sammi/Ronnie is definitely ho-hum). But I keep watching. I watch mainly for Pauly D’s hair.

I read the weekly recaps on the AV Club site, where the reviewer LoveHates the show as much as I do. I generally agree with the review.

Isn’t season 2 on the FLORIDA shore???

It was fun for a while, but I got sick of it before season 1 was over.

I’m so tired of NJ getting notoriety for all of the wrong reasons - toxic waste sites (yeah, there a few, you know, here and there), the mob (the Sopranos being the most recent installment), the turnpike, etc.

You know we’re still called the garden state and even considering all of the farmers who decided to plant condo seeds, there’s still a lot of farm land here. There’s also (or at least used to be) a pretty aggressive program for preserving undeveloped land.

Most people here don’t even have a noticeable accent. Yes, there are probably more nail salons per capita than most other states, but I’ve seen many go out of business so even that isn’t quite so bad any more.

I’m originally from the deep south, but I’ve lived here for the vast majority of my life so I think of myself as a native. As such, this sort of thing is really distressing. I keep hoping the state will get a better image and then this sort of show comes along and sets us back 10 years.

I guess I would be a “grillajuicehead”?! Man, is this what Italian Culture is? A buncha meathead Guido’s and Guidette’s actin’ the fool?
