Does anyone feel like White Elephanting?

Well, I haven’t had a chance to get my cr… er treasures together for my elephantee, but don’t worry RumMunky, it’ll be on its way by the weekend for sure!

I’m a bit concerned - my recipient hasn’t checked in, and I sent the package Priority Mail…

Picunurse WooooooooooooooooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
What fun I had getting my box that weighed more than my first car!

The stuff was plentiful and to numerous to mention, but the big hits were the whorehouse kaleidascope ( already given to my daughter’s kindergarten class), the pocket flash light thingie, the costume jewelry, pencils, cars and a few other things that I am blocking out at 430am EST.

You should have seen the look on my mail carriers face when I explained to her what exactly a White Elephant was. The concept of mailing shit to complete strangers …got me a little odd look from her. But boy! The fun I had unpacking the box!
WOW!

You have some fun crap!
THANKS!

I’m so happy you had fun with it. I sure had fun packing it.

Oooohhhhhh, I got two boxes today!!! I was sitting on the front porch, reading my magazine, and the UPS guy walked up carrying two enormous boxes. My mouth must have dropped to the ground, I was so surprised.

What was in the boxes, you ask? Well…

CDs (the music and movie kind, not the financial type)–which Hallboy immediately took possession of most of them. They’re mostly soundtracks.

Two animated videos. Kid related. My nephews will love them (two and five years old).

Two T-shirts (yep, they’ll fit)

A game

A Tommy from the Rugrats plastic mug

A stuffed gorilla

Chip and Dip bowl (to Hallgirl1)

Candles with glass holders (to Hallgirl2),

A Women’s body book

Two hats (which Hallboy took)

A talking Yoda (Hallboy also snatched into his possession) and scared me half to death when I walked into his bedroom this morning and heard it talking to me.

A winter hat, which Hallboy took camping with him this morning.

And drapes. Insulated. With the little hanger thingies.

Wow. It WAS just like Christmas! Thank you, Zebra!

I forgot to mention the Blackberry Jam. YummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmY!

I think it is my new favorite flavor. ( Strawberry being the winner for the last near four decades.)

And the funky safety glasses-Aristotle Onasiss glasses…I need these for mowing my lawn but I refuse to pay for them. Now my neighbors can mock me liberally and it didn’t cost me anything!

Thank you Picunurse…bawk bawk!

Because I got a package from FairyChatMom
! And boy, what a package!

[li] Square wooden planter[/li][li] Purple plastic gourd birdhouse[/li][li] Rubber thingie with coin slots[/li][li] 2-tape edition of Gunfighters of the Old West[/li][li] Calculator/pad holder with a pen![/li][li] Travel alarm[/li][li] Pez Dispenser[/li][li] Clear Plastic dog (I love this little guy)[/li][li] Bell on a chain (hung up in my car already)[/li][li] Button (huh? :))[/li][li] Comb[/li][li] 2 dime sleeves[/li][li] Some “Hello my name is” type of labels[/li][li] Woven basket with handle[/li][li] 2 crocheted hot pads!!! Wow![/li][/ul]

And the next item will make you all weep…a ceramic piece FCM made last spring. THAT’S RIGHT, HER OWN CREATION!!!
Now.

Who wants to kiss my feet?

(FCM, I was out of town over the weekend, and didn’t get to check my mail until last night. And also, it was lucky that you put your Dope name in one place, 'cause it’s nowhere else on the box or on the list!)

I find it highly ironic that FCM sent Anaamika a pez dispenser, when I sent FCM pez.

And I’m highly intrigued by “rubber thingie with coin slots.” I need more info.

My White Elephantee has not responded yet to the thread.

I am concerned that my cr…important box is languishing in the Vortex of Post Office Wherewithall.

It might be yours, she did say it was from another White Elephant. I didn’t get a chance to ;ook at it closely, but it’s in a small plastic box?

And the rubber thing is a large flat black thing, that goes in your car, it’s about six or eight inches square and floppy. (major snerk)

No, I sent her Pez with no dispenser the same day she sent off your package, I believe.

You’re welcome! I get a lot of movie soundtracks given to me in my job. The movies have been replaced with DVDs. That gorilla is Amy the Gorilla from the movie Congo. Those drapes I had when I owned a movie theatre. I made the ‘cry room’ my office and I had to have blackout curtains to cover the large window. My mom actually made those. If you don’t need curtains, you should make play clothes for the children. Oh and the Woman’s Body book is Our Bodies Ourselves, which was given to (the soon to be former) Mrs Zebra as a bridal shower gift from her sister.

Can you guess what item was given to me in the last White Elephant exchange?

Oh and expect one more box.

So, I take it nothing spilled or leaked…
I ususally make Blackberry jam but what you got is jelly. There were so many seeds in the berries I picked this year, the jam just wasn’t so good. Glad you like the jelly.
Hubby made fun of me for putting the safety glasses in. he said no one would want them. My answer was “Too bad, its a white elephant!” He shrugged and went away.

I got the Pez dispenser when I was still in Florida, so the candy is definitely not the freshest. I can’t recall who it came from. Perhaps you should pass it on next time you participate in one of these exchanges??

I was glad to see that you got the box, since I sent it a week ago. I was starting to get a bit worried, but now I can sleep at nights.

The ceramic thing was (I think) the third or fourth piece I made. It served us briefly as a penny bowl, but I’m certain you’ll come up with a proper use for it. Personally, I wouldn’t use it for anything edible - but that’s just me…

Holy Crap Tanookie! there is so much stuff in here! I bet my mailman had a time with this one.

Man, where to start…

Tanookie, this stuff is wonderful. There is just so much! Thank you so much. I feel like my birthday came twice this year.

I’m sure 96.3 percent of this cool stuff will be used pretty often around the house.

Thanks again. everything is great!

Glad it all arrived safely…

And those little tupperware things are coin holders

Enjoy

Oh - and the little bird houses have become my daughter’s favorite things! I’ve put the dish scrubbies to very good use and had fun explaining the whole white elephant concept to a friend. Thanks Again Gardentraveller!

Yeah, I sorta guessed that, since there was the incription on the inside of the book, as well as the Bridal card stuck inside. Her not reading the book didn’t have anything to do with the demise of your marriage, did it?

What you got from the last White Elephant Exchange…hmmm…The candle holders and Chip & Dip bowl were probably wedding presents (do I detect a theme here?), so I’m thinking maybe the glow-in-the dark, extra large, rotating and vibrating dild…oh, wait, that wasn’t in the box!

I have no clue. What?

I got mine last weekend I just never said anything. Lets see if I can remember what I got. I got a Detroit Lions shirt, which I wore on Monday hoping to see if anyone would say anything, they didn’t. I needed some new shirts for work anyway and it fits well. I also got a picture holder with ships on it, it will go well with my ship I have hanging in the bathroom. I also got a book similar to the Straight Dope, questions that you want to have answered that are out there. I don’t remember what else was in there though.

I sent out Rocking Chairs last night, I’ve been very bad, but it is on it’s way and since you were somewhat close to me it should be there this weekend I hope.

Holy liftin’!!!

My box was kinda small but it still costs $6.00 to post!!! I feel bad for not sending as much stuff as some did!

I hope they’re useful - they’ve been sitting around my house forever!

Well, add me to the list of people who didn’t identify themselves in the package…I’ll have to start saving stuff for the next one…apparently I didn’t send nearly enough stuff!

PicuNurse - it’s from me!!

I don’t know who’s got me but when I posted my parcel yesterday, Canada Post said 10-15 days arrival.
