It is older, probably 10 years old or so. The purpose is you are a mafia don in charge of a neighborhood and you have to build brothels, speakeasies, etc. and get the drunks to go in and buy things to make money. You also have to pay off the cops, deal with rival mobs, etc. You can hire armed goons too if you need them for whatever reason (armed with machine guns, shotguns or pistols).
The view is birds eye and it is a strategy game, probably 10 years old. Does anyone have an idea about the name?
Is it “Gangsters: Organized Crime”, by Eidos? Came out in 1998?
I’m pretty sure its not, I looked at some youtube video of that game and it didn’t look like it. The game I’m thinking of was more cartoon-ish than Gangsters: Organized crime.
In this game you could knock out a bum, take him to the outside of a brothel or speakeasy and then let him walk in and spend his money. etc.
I’ve been trying to remember what game that was too since seeing Mafia on sale on Steam. There used to be a pretty good sized demo for it around 1999 or so. I think multiplayer was an option, but clunky.
It sounds like it may be “Mob Rule”

I actually have it, but have never played it so I don’t know if it has the features you listed. Check out the screenshots and see if it’s the one you remember.
Mob rule is the game. Thank you.
