I used to know a Jman (a Jeremy, nice guy met him in person on a meet in Vegas from this group ), from another online community a few years ago. The name of the community was Virtual Places/Trivia. You’re not THAT Jman are you?
I recognize most of the posters in this thread, but I only recognize you, Jman, from your recent post telling people not to call you Jordy. Solly, Cholly. If it’s any consolation, I’ve been around nearly as long as you, with almost seven times as many posts, and most people don’t recognize me, either. Like others have said, if all you do is post thoughtful, intelligent, hysterically funny, insightful, humble posts like I do, people don’t tend to notice.
You asked for an honest opinion, and I’ll give you one. If you want tips on how to be more remembered I can give you some advice also.
Never heard of you. I quickly glanced through all the threads you’ve started with the search feature, and noticed that you haven’t started any (IMO) memorable threads nor have any of your threads within the past couple years generated more than a couple dozen replies (besides this one). Thread starters are the ones that usually stick out in my mind. That, and people who have some sort of unusual character traits or who make well researched post or are forcefull enough with expressing their beliefs (whether I agree with it or not).
People that mostly just hang around MPSIMS and IMHO posting inside those threads and not really starting any threads can very, very easily slip past my attention on this board.
Wow…expected this thread to die out pretty quickly, yet here it still is. Thanks everone. I was just feeling quirky last night, and missing my wife a lot (Ranchoth, we’re still very happily together, don’t worry, but she had to return to the US ahead of me to go back to her job…I’ll be joining her once the Army releases me in a few months).
Anyway…yes, Blalron, I don’t start particularly exciting threads, and I’m a thread killer it seems as well. I certainly wasn’t saying that I should be a notorious poster, nor do I really want to be.
congodwarf, gardentraveler, twickster, thank you for your kind words about my photos. Photography is definitely my new passion, and I’ve still got a lot to learn. I’ve only been really serious about it for a little over a year, so I’m getting better every month.

laina_f. I’ve been on 81 coasters. There was a time (when I made the spreadsheet), that I was really into roller coasters, and while I still love to ride them, I’m certainly not anywhere close to as nutty about them as I used to be. I haven’t ridden Top Thrill Dragster yet, but I really want to. Cedar Point is pretty close to where I grew up, but I haven’t had a chance to go in about 4 years. Your bowling ball suggestion sounds like a BAD idea. 
The Cyclone is truly worth its reputation.

I’m pretty sure nobody here knows who I am. People who usually hang out in GQ don’t generally make a huge impact, unless their input either is so high in quality it can outshine a tomndebb- or Q.E.D.-caliber poster, or they are a recognized master in a specific field (Qadgop the Mercotan fits in here).
I don’t have a very good memory for names myself, so if nobody recognizes mine it isn’t a surprise to me.

I wouldn’t feel bad. It depends on how often you respond to the same people over & over again more than anything. If you are always respond to new threads all over the board people won’t really notice you. Those of us who are remembered are always replying to threads along the same lines.

Heh… I actually do recognize your name…I have a Papillon dog named Jay, and one of his nicnames is Jman 
. So you are memorable to me.
If I am memorable at all , it’s because I am that crazy dog lady.
Sometimes. And other times you feel like you could vanish and no one would notice, and you get depressed about it and go off in search of chocolate. Well, I do anyways. Only I’m out of chocolate right now. I’ll have some later.
Anyways, what was I saying? Oh yeah. Jman I’m another who recognizes your name but little else. Keep posting, enjoy the place, and fight ignorance. Anything else is just icing.
