Does anyone reaaly like McDonald's?

Actually, I like Wendy’s fries more than McDonalds’ fries. Maybe because of the style of fry.

But McD’s is a close second in the fry department.

McDonald’s fries are by far the best!

Burger King burgers are amazing…

And McDonalds’s in India also serves you at the table if the wait is longer than a couple of minutes…

Yes, and I don’t think there’s a need to apologize. I try to watch my weight these days and avoid eating out, but McDonald’s in Japan has several virtues:

A. Easy-to-enter. There are many different kinds of fast food restaurants in Japan, and these tend to be more easy-to-enter than sit-down type restaurants, which can be somewhat uncomfortable if you are eating by yourself. McDonald’s is really no worse than other fast food joints here.

B. Fast, plus you can get take-out. Obvious.

C. Cheap! McDonald’s used to be expensive here, but, owing to the price wars, they often have things that are ridiculously cheap. Right now Big Macs are just 200 yen, less than $2 apiece.

D. Special menu items. Double burger with fried egg on top? Not healthful, but awesome in taste! Teriyaki burger and chicken tatsuta (friend chicken thingie) are regular menu items. That said, the recently introduced fish poppers totally blew.

E. Higher quality. At many McDonald’s here they practically cook your food to order. When those burgs are hot off the griddle, man, how they taste!

Yeah, I basically just repeated what you said!

I have liked the shrimp burger at Lotteria; they also have good coffee. We used to eat at Mos more than we do now; their prices now are relatively more expensive. I don’t like their burgers very much, but some of the other menu items are pretty creative and nice. Fries are good.

I think we can also agree that First Kitchen is the worst fast food chain in the country. How the hell do they stay in business?

I second this. The best cure for a hangover is the Sausage Egg McMuffin, a hash brown, a small Coke and a couple aspirin.

No; I only go there because my kids consider it a treat and even then, they will admit their order of preference is:
-The happy meal toy
-The play place
-The shake
-Oh, and the food, maybe.

In my opinion (and possibly in my locality only), the food is significantly inferior to BK - McD fries are nearly always soggy and very often ridiculously oversalted, whereas BK fries are nearly always crisp and moderately seasoned. McD Burgers are small, sweaty and generally not very meaty, the buns are too sweet and what the fuck is all that sloppy stuff in there?.

Having said all that. they do offer a couple of salads though , which I feel it would be no exaggeration to describe as ‘adequate’.

The coffee is good and that is all I can usually bring myself to order.

I love McDonald’s fries, as they beat any other fast-food places offerings. Though the quality has been slipping in the last couple of years, the quality of fries at other fast food places (Burger King especially) has been declining even faster. Also, I prefer the broiled burgers to those that are flame grilled. Jack-in-Box is pretty close though.

I enjoy McD’s- while the fries aren’t the greatest, they are still damn good (the greatest are Rally’s, tho BK & Wendy’s are close behind); I love the Big Mac “special sauce” (1000 Island that may have a touch more horseradish);
and I definitely adore the Filet-O-Fish- with it’s mega-dose of tartar sauce L

oh man…

now I’m hungry for a BigMac and fries.
curse you op

yes yes yes – I have also found this to be the case. And it is not just a good hang over cure. It is also a depressed miserable Nemesis cure. Especially if it is because it is Monday morning but Nemesis no wanna go to work, i bag myself the Double Sausage Egg McMuffin, and two hash browns - together with a steaming hot cup of coffee.

Probably does one no good whatsoever health wise, but it is a damn site more effective and probably less harmful than any anti-depressant drug.

Um… i also have to be hungry to eat this. If i am not hungry and have the Monday mornin’ blues, coffee just about picks me up.

Talking of sitting down while waiting to be served at MD’s - happens here in Manchester UK too.

As for who does the best burgers… I prefer the taste of BK but, i prefer the texture of MC Donald’s - BK’s are too dry for me - they make me gag unless i drink water between bites. Grease up the BK burger, and i will be in heaven.

IMHO, there’s nothing at McDonald’s that I can’t get a better version of somewhere else.

I’m addicted to McNuggets. I can eat 40 of them in a sitting. Whoever invented the ‘boot’ nugget deserves a Nobel prize. Though I did like them better before the ‘all white meat’ thing.

As for the fries- excellent. They used to be better when they were cooked in lard as opposed to vegetable oil, but they are still pretty good. Damn Hindus, always making a stink.

I like McDonald’s too. Though after the documentary Super Size Me came out, I started feeling a little paranoid about eating there. That guy ate there for a month…I eat there so often it would be as if you carried the experiment for a full two years

Though I haven’t blimped out…yet. And I do conciously try to avoid eating there all the time. But most days I am really busy, and don’t have time to prepare a lunch in advance. I’m also a picky eater, too. There is a McDonald’s which is strategically located in such a way to be really convenient for me to go there in between jobs/school, and unfortunately it often draws me there.

And I think I’m the only person on the planet that likes their steak McBagel. The steak in it seems like they took a slab of beef jerky and ‘rehydrated’ it using bacon grease :stuck_out_tongue: but it tastes great. Also, their coffee is pretty good, and it is half the cost of a cup of joe at Starbucks.

iirc McNugges were invented by the U.S. Army

The only thing I really like at McDonalds is the McRib. During McRib time, I’ll usually order two and a diet coke. No need for fries.

I’m not big on the fries. They’re disgusting unless hot and even hot, they usually oversalt them.

Oddly enough, the only time I’ve easten at McDonals in the last 21 years, I had a hot apple pie. And a hot cocoa.

It was December, only a few days until Christmas.

I had been in a car accident, the other driver & I had waited for hours for the Nasjville cops to show, & I was freezing & famished.

There were no other choices. :smack:

For the most part, I’m in the situation described by Ringo; if I’m in an extreme rush for some reason, I’ll grab a quickie lunch there, but that doesn’t count as “like”.

However … I actually do like their breakafast burritos. Og help me.

Bland, cheap, and for the most part unoffensive. But chalk up another vote for the Filet-O-Fish. Not bad at all.

To reply to the poster who said “IMHO, there’s nothing at McDonald’s that I can’t get a better version of somewhere else.” I agree. But to get everything better would require going to a dozen different restaurants. McD’s is in the top 3 in enough categories to often make it the default choice. YMMV.

I like McDonald’s food, though for health reasons I now avoid it.

But the thing is, their fries are sooo tasty. Two thirds of the other chains have gone over to those crispy fry things, where their fries are covered in bread or batter or beach sand or something - I’m not sure what it is, but it ruins the fry. McDonald’s fries are still the best in the business.

Remember: Crispy breaded fries are the work of the devil.

I go to McDonald’s more than any other fast food place, if only because their fries are so good. I’d rather eat their fries than the ones from most sit-down restaurants. Also, the crispy chicken sandwich is scrumptious, the salads aren’t bad, and you can get a tasty breakfast for just a few bucks (sausage biscuit, anyone?).

The burgers, however, leave something to be desired. I got a couple of double cheeseburgers on Saturday (the first time I’ve gotten a burger there in a long time), and suffice it to say I wasn’t impressed. I’m going back to chicken.

And Dairy Queen’s Blizzards destroy McDonald’s McFlurries. (Their salads are better, too.)

I do like McDonald’s, but I only eat there a few times per year. In fact, I don’t think I’ve eaten at McDonald’s (or BK or Wendy’s) since January.

I like the Hamburger Happy Meal, no ketchup. I hate ketchup, so I ask for one of the packets of BBQ sauce and use that on my burger and for fry-dipping. Yum.

The last time I was there, I had one of the new salads instead. I believe it had fried chicken, bacon, and mandarin oranges. It was delicious, but I’m not dumb enough to believe it was a diet item.
