This female pop/rock artist recorded in the early-to-mid 80’s. I recall two hits: one called “Let the Music Play” (chorus: “Let the Music Play/He won’t get away/Just keep the groove and then/He’ll come back to you again”) and one called “Give Me Tonight” (“Give me tonight/Babe, if you don’t wanna stay/Girl, I’ll just forget you”) I’m pretty sure the name was Shannon, but I don’t recall a last name, and I can’t seem to find any sort of discography for her. I turn to the teeming millions for assistance. Any of you guys know the artist I’m talking about?
I know the artist, but what’s the Question?
The question is what is the artist’s full name (if that’s not it), and where and how I might be able to find a discography for her.
Chaim Mattis Keller
I sure do remember her. She went only by her first name as a recording artist. She doesn’t have a lot of songs out; in fact, she just re-surfaced this past year after taking a very long hiatus.
CDNOW has a brief biography/discography of her here.
Joel Whitburn’s Billboard Book of Top 40 hits says:
“Brenda Shannon Greene from Washington, D.C. Began singing career at York University.”
And that’s all.
