Here is a cool trick to get your little one to quit using the pacifier without a big fuss.
First, throw away all of the pacifiers in the house except one. Then, a few days later, take a pair of scissors and cut the very tip of the pacifier off. Every few days cut a bit more off. It get really hard to suck on quickly, but you don’t have to take it away so there is no big scene.
My cousin had this done to her when she was two years old. She held on to the pacifier until the sucker was so small she had to hold on to it with her teeth to keep it from falling out of her mouth. Eventually she decided it was “broken” and threw it away on her own.
