Does pie and chips mean something different to Brits?

Ever tried stargazy pie? Now there’s an unforgettable experience.

So, you don’t know about steak and kidney pudding, then?

Poor Desperate Dan.

The lizard has an East End accent (I love the Geiko advert).

To all you confused Septics, the lizard’s incredulity isn’t at the fact that someone might turn down a free meal, its that someone would turn down a free decent take out.

He’s referring to the kind of Pie and Chips you’d get from a Fish n’ Chip shop (mmmm, pukka pie and chip shop chips…) not the kind someone might make at home.

If you swop the reference to pie and chips for a reference to maybe free takeout chinese or free pizza it may make more sense.

Yup. I regularly order a ten-inch pie. the word pizza is not mentioned.
