Laura - Yeah, I ended my involvement with this thread, except for my Bluiicool observation, because some people just don’t have the mental capacity to comprehend simple concepts. They are a waste of my time.
- For those who were not on the old SDMB, Bluiicool was an obnoxious jerk who would make erroneous, bigoted, or just plain unintelligible posts. Others with a lot more experience in the areas he would be ranting about, would continuosly make him look like a fool. It was usually about this time that a newby would show up and begin supporting Blu. The funny thing was that the newby would also post in the same annoying brown font, have the same bad grammar, and make the same spelling errors.

I became a whipping boy when I brought up the topic of UFOs and aliens. I still bring up the topic and I find it very interesting. That proclivity of mine has helped to create a stable of anti-followers that track my every UFO-related post, hoping to steer others away from discussion…I even have a pet troll out here that goes by the handle of “Slythe”…
Another famous scuffle that helped to create my “whipping boy” image involved a long-running debate/dicussion/slamfest concerning a prayer being given at a public high school graduation ceremony.
The common theme here is that I’m outspoken and sometimes confrontational and abrasive. When attacked, I attack back even harder…
The comment concerning the admistration is in
reference to the FACT that I’ve been admistratively threatened and punished multiple times. In fact, not long ago, one of the moderators deleted approximately 200 of my posts with one stroke of the key, singling me out for behavior that is commonplace on these boards. I’ve been privately warned by those in charge not to “stir up” bad feelings toward this message board or the administration.

Well I’ve stayed away from this thread for a while because it got so contentious/flamin’/nasty (OK, just not a conversation I wanted to be a party to), but it hasn’t stopped me from thinking about the subjects of the OP and how they’re doing.
Not to stir up the old arguments again, but I was hoping for an update on how it’s going for them. Is he still there? Are the kids adjusting? Etc.

Yes and no - she doesn’t say a lot about it but she has been pretty quiet and sad, which is very UNLIKE her. She has called in sick 3 days this week.
She did talk to me the other day about her daughter. It seems that the girl wants to go live with her dad, the dad that she hasn’t had contact with in 10 years and has no idea where he even is.
I did tell her that I would be more than happy to lend a shoulder and that maybe we could go to lunch next week. She said that she really appreciates it and that she would like to take me up on my offer.
I hope things are okay and that her troubles are nothing more than stress that comes with creating a new family.

Undirected note–There was an incident in Virginia recently where a mother apparently decided she shoulda had the abortion after all. She therefore gave herself a retroactive abortion by killing her baby with a microwave oven. (I’m going to show an unexpected flash of good taste by not even MENTIONING kid’s meals, Stouffer’s, or anything of the sort.)
My reason for mentioning this here? Just this: it isn’t just people mom or dad drags home that kids are in danger from, it’s mom and dad themselves. There’s no solution, either, short of seizing every child born and raising them in factories.
