I scanned their CDs on Amazon and couldn’t find one with those words. Plus, I am not really sure of the names of their best songs (I just know a Dave Matthews song when I hear it!)
Any help?

None from me, as I think the album would be called “Pure Sugary Fluff, The Very Best of Dave Matthews.”
Mrs. Moto likes him. I’m trying to show the Moto twins the error of her ways. They don’t get it quite yet. Maybe when they get past one year old.
They have a live album or four, that are essentially greatest hits.
C’mon, Moto.
SmackFu is right on. The two-disc live sets are a pretty good overview of “hits”. But there is no greatest-hits comp as yet. I tend to think that the discs (especially the earlier ones) function well as full albums. It would be hard to pick a list of hits.
Moto, you suck.
Live at Red Rocks and LIstener Supported are the best albums to get… They contain most of their best known songs. DO NOT BUY LIVE AT FOLSOM FIELD. I wouldn’t wish that album on my worst enemy’s dog.
Sorry, but I agree with Moto. I’ve tried and tried to listen to this band and have come to the conclusion that DMB is overrated. They have some decent musicians, but their sound is muddy and their vocals generic. Their fans are legion and rabid, and this is heresy, I know, so blast away.
I think it should be: We’re Sorry To Torture You With This Crap AGAIN.
If you’re looking for radio hits, you won’t find them all on one CD. For the best of their released songs (many of which you’ve never heard on the radio), you can’t do any better than Live at Red Rocks, as tramp suggested. For newer songs try Live at Folsom Field (sorry, tramp) or Listener Supported. Unlike some bands, the DMB comes across best when heard live.
As regards the general criticism of Moto and Chefguy …Shrug…it’s true, not everyone likes the music, but I’m not about to blast anyone whose taste is different from mine. It would be a pretty boring musical landscape if everyone liked the same stuff.
Ah yes, that crappy Dave Matthews Band. How dare those guys actually know how to write music, understand chord structures and how to improvise within them, and play their instruments!
My only real complaint is that Dave can’t sing worth a darn. But I’ll overlook at that.
Anyway, as for the OP, just grab Live at Red Rocks. It’s pretty much a greatest hits album.
I don’t think so. "We Gleefully Torture You With This Crap AGAIN " would be more honest.
Proudest Monkey… good to see another Dave fan on the boards… But you know Live at Folsom Field is horrible, you have to know that! Everyday and LAFF are just terrible, the lowest points in the DMB catalog. I can’t wait until Dave’s new solo album comes out next month. Boyd Tinsley’s sucked ass but I digress.
If you would like to hear Dave acoustic with his friend Tim Reynolds, check out Live at Luther College. It is a most wonderful listening experience.
Neurotik… will you be attending the DMB concert at the Nissan Pavillion on September 13th? After the last one I vowed never, ever to go back there because the traffic was so awful but I can’t resist DMB…
Probably not. I’ve never been to a DMB concert, and I don’t listen to them too much. I pop in Live at Red Rocks fairly regularly, though. I didn’t even realize they were going to be in the area.
September 13th baby. The shows are awfully good… probably the best time one can have.
Enjoy Nissan, tramp. I will be at Hartford on Aug. 30 and 31 and at Tweeter Center in MA Sept. 8.
I agree with you on Everyday, but the songs are much better live and maybe that’s why I enjoy Folsom Field–in particular the interwoven Everyday/#36. I also love Live at Luther; unfortunately did not manage to score tickets for last spring’s Dave and Tim tour. Have heard rumors of a solo Dave tour for the winter.
Ok Everyday/#36 is good… but a freaking 25 minute Angel… Gah! My worst nightmare!
I saw Dave & Tim at Old Dominion University this year… it was FABULOUS! He premiered his new solo song “Stay or Leave” at that show… It is a great song, I can’t wait to hear “Some Devil”!
AP - Rolling Stone is reporting that Dave Matthews has a new CD due out later in the year. Says Matthews, “It has a lot of wild strumming, incoherent lyrics, and annoying falsetto-singing. I’m tempted to say that it’s a big departure from my previous work, except that it’s not a departure at all.” The CD is to be released in time for Christmas.
I mostly listen to Live at Luther College recently. I don’t think DM gets much airplay out here, as far as I know nothing has ever charted. I had never heard of him until the Mormons who were trying to convert me mentioned him. Two days later I fell asleep with the radio on and woke up at 2 am to Sleep To Dream Her so I went out and bought a few albums.
What’s with the Dave hate? Why don’t you go start your own DMB bashing thread instead of hijacking this one?:wally

what happened to these guys? not to be “cliche” but I thought the earlier stuff had some really tasty elements to it…
but the latest stuff-- yeahhhhh – it’s pretty fluffy—
on the other hand-- any chance you get to see Carter Buford play – that is time well spent… that guy is pretty great!
Ok, Everyday DID suck. It sucked hard. It sucked so hard that I wanted to take a huge shit on the CD and send it back to RCA.
But that was Glen Ballard’s fault. Poor Dave was seduced by his pop promises…
I think they redeemed themselves with Busted Stuff, a great morphing of the infamous Lillywhite Sessions. I do not, however, like Where Are You Going. That has the nefarious thumbprint of Glen Ballard on it. When I die, I hope they bury me deep so I never, ever have to hear Where Are You Going again. YUCK!
