Is it possible to put an entire thread on my “ignore” list?
That would be such a cool feature, for some threads that just get too annoying to pay attention to.

Ooh. I’d love that. Some of those monstrous MPSIMS threads that will not go away and you have to scroll past for months on end are so annoying.
Not that I’ve ever been able to suss out of the UI, no, and I’m an inveterate button-pusher.
One of the (many) differences between this place and Usenet with a good newsreader, sadly.
I guess I’m puzzled. For threads that you don’t want to pay attention to… just don’t open them. Seems like an easy solution, and less energy than clicking on them to get them into an “ignore” mode?
Well, if a thread was ignored, it’d mean that it wouldn’t push another thread off the front page of a forum; it wouldn’t crop up when you search for ‘new posts’ - basically reducing the visual clutter you have to repeatedly sort through.
I agree - I’d love it.
(It’d be great if it was possible to automatically ignore every boring thread about mundane American legal matters, too…)
Well, it’s a thread title thing. Over in the Pit, every time, I see the title of “James Randi and Dry Spots,” I stop and ask myself, “Do I need to change the sheets?”
I too would enjoy this. Yes yes, I don’t bother opening the “Democrats Suck” and Republicans Are Morons" nor do I open “Do you like (insert bizarre sex here)” threads. But it would be great to say “ignore” and not have them show up every time I come on board.
