I suspect that you’d go through a lot of light bulbs trying to cut the base off neatly. Also, the (head + hair) is larger than the opening at the base of the bulb would be.

That’s not to say you couldn’t use ship-in-a-bottle techniques to assemble the head inside the globe–but it’d be pretty finicky work

I have done something similar already. Moebius put out a lovely resin model of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz, looking into her crystal ball. Unfortunately, the ball, which is the centerpiece of the composition, is molded in two halves.

So I commissioned a local glass shop to blow me a globe. I cut the insert of Dorothy et al into three parts, which I was able to slip into the globe and gently jiggle back into alignment.

Of course, once the technical problem was solved, I immediately lost interest :rolleyes:, and the model is sitting in its box on a shelf in the Room O’ Doom.

Nice job on Dorothy, et al. Nifty story and technique.
