I have two bulldogs, a male Charlie, 8 years old, a female Morgan, 6 years old. They spend 23 hours a day laying down, if not sleeping.
They get some table scraps, but not a lot.
They like to swim, but sink so have to stay in the shallow water.
I let them kiss my face, but try to avoid lips (and they aren’t slobbery unless they are hot or just drank some water.)
The female follows me everywhere (lays down in the room I am in, or on my lap if I sit down - gets annoyed when I am cleaning the house that she has to change rooms so much), the male doesn’t follow anyone.
My dogs don’t wake me up in the morning - I have to shake them to wake them up to take them out before I go to work.
The male likes car rides, the female doesn’t care.
They greet me at the door if I make enough noise to wake them up.
I don’t leave anything on for them, they have each other.
Their breath is getting worse as they get older, but generally tolerable.
They used to sleep with me, husband won’t let them anymore.

They don’t need grooming, they get baths every 6 weeks or so, neither likes to be brushed too much.
Someone breaks in, first of all the person would have to make some noise or they would sleep through it- and then it depends - if they are home alone or it is daytime, they would welcome the company. If I am home with them and it is night, though, the female would probably attack, or at least puts on a very convincing bluff - she has charged my husband getting in late at night, only to stop dead in her tracks a few feet away when she realizes it is just him - quite a funny thing to see really. - male would ignore the intruder in same situation. This assumes in the house. Lots of people walk past our house, and if the person says anything, the dogs are over there wanting attention. I worry more about them following someone home than attacking outside the house.
