Did I see the cheese guy?
She always had a moral compass that she was willing to lubricate very liberally. I didn’t see her new persona as so much power hungry as much as desperate and terrified. That’s why she became a falling down drunk. She was not comfortable with how much she found out about Rossum’s overall plan.
That she was comfortable with it in the first place shows that this moral compass was wonky to begin with, but she had one.
I’m starting to think that the apocalypse we saw in Epitaph 1 might end up just being one of the worst case scenarios in Clyde’s attic nightmare, and could ultimately be averted…
I’m reading elsewhere that this might be the case, but I swear that Joss said that Epitaph One was the future and the future is unalterable.
Not sure.
Where are you reading it? I’d love to hear some other theories…
Heh. So was I, but I really shouldn’t have been.
Angel did the exact same “convince all my friend’s I’m evil in order to take down the evil corporation/band of demons I work for” thing.
While inside the Attic, Echo’s version of the LA Dollhouse had a gnarled tree covered in snow. I seem to recall seeing the same tree in Epitaph One. I don’t remember seeing this tree in the real LA Dollhouse, when they pan around the people doing yoga, etc. If this is the same tree, that might support the theory that the events of Epitaph One occurred inside the Attic.
When Echo said the tree was from the house where she grew up, she shouldn’t have been talking about Caroline’s memories, which she doesn’t possess. Where then did the tree memory come from?
Alpha is something of a Dollhouse-tech genius. Do you suppose he’s got Clyde somewhere in his effervescing cortex? Is it possible that Alpha put Clyde into Echo and she just hasn’t run into him yet?
Do Echo and Victor still have the cortical radio chips installed? That could come in handy. I bet Topher could install them in Sierra and Ballard, as well. Without the groupthink software, please–just the communication.
I went to IMDB and saw that they list the following episodes still to come:
Getting Closer - air date Friday, January 8
The Hollow Men - air date Friday, January 15
Epitaph Two: Return - air date Friday, January 22
Only Epitaph Two doesn’t mention that it will broadcast on Fox and the other two do. I’m guessing that will be released in a similar fashion to Epitaph One. Anyone else have news on these?
Finally got a chance to see these two. Both great episodes, though I wasn’t surprised that Adele was only pretending to be evil. I also think that she sabotaged Topher’s blueprints somehow so Rossum (still love that name) won’t get anything out of them. (She took the plans from Topher, but I doubt that’s what she handed over).
Does anybody know which disc(s) you need to order on Netflix to get Epitaph One? It’s not in the description.
Thanks!
The last one. Enjoy.
Solid episodes, I KNEW Adele was up to something! I don’t really understand why she couldn’t confide in her peeps, Topher and Boyd at least. She already knew that they were having grave reservations about what was happening, so it’s not like there was any chance of them ratting her out. Perhaps she wanted their anger/etc. towards her to be genuine in case someone at Rossum was watching…
Wait’ll you see the next one…
FYI: Netflix does show the episode list on TV DVDs. It’s not in the description - it’s down below under the description, under the recommendations, down in the specs.
I caught “Epitaph One” and the pilot this week on bluray. I think that for future viewing, “Epitaph One” should be viewed right before last week’s episode. It has Dr. Saunders as a sympathetic character, hints at Echo having already acquired Caroline, and shows what’s going to happen if it all doesn’t work.
