I’m now having flashbacks to fourth grade and to the first year of uni…
::applause::
maybe it’ll come down to another race between me and swampy for the earliest Sunday Evening MMP
eta damned pistachios ruined my manicure
Nava–I think maybe he just wanted to break the ice. No secret crush or whatever, but just wanted to establish friendly relations. Or maybe Nigerian in the kitchen was scaring him.
<very glad I don’t have to live with roommates anymore, then thinks of TH and ponders Indian or Nigerian guy… Hmm. I might trade you>
I did some yard work. #2 son and I watched a rather gruesome show on Travel channel all about the Mütter Museum (need umlaut. Have forgotten how to do it–HEY! I remembered!). I have a strong stomach for most stuff but…ergh.
I like the fish tank and all, but FCM–you are going to move the pic hanging on the wall behind it, right? That will BOTHER me, if you don’t.
rigs - the picture will be moved. It’s far too good to be hidden. I’ve been requested to make a 3-D ceramic sculpture of a seascape or something. I have some ideas - we shall see…
I’ve been lazy today. Other than making a sammich, I’ve been knitting and watching TV. **FCD **and daughter have the tank in the garage - he wants the back to be painted black. So I’ve got the family room to myself and my critters. And in half an hour or so, I need to start making supper. I’ll make sammiches with the leftover poke bbq, and I’ve got cucumber salad marinating. Maybe some N.O.T. too? I dunno.
I seem to have one recalcitrant goldfish that doesn’t want to move to winter quarters. I could only find 10. Only one frog to relocate this year - and it was a biggie. I’ll have to keep checking back for that one fish - I seem to recall that I still had a long-tailed white one, and I didn’t see one in the tanks.
They are getting huge - as big as my hand. I wonder how they’d fry up…?
ack! no! they’re family!
mmmmmmmm poke BBQ was yum! So was the cuke salad. Too stuffed for dessert just yet, but maybe later.
Back to knitting.
Howdy Y’all! Lunch was a success. YAY! All but two quarts of the red beans and rice were eaten. I made a bunch! Anywho, I gave one quart to my next door neighbor who is a bit under the weather and the other quart to an older couple who live on the next road over who go to my church and got back from a trip to South Carolina this afternoon. All were thrilled with my generosity.
OOOOH! One of the invitees brought three loaves of still warm cranberry/walnut/pecan bread. NUM!!! So we had that and ice cream cake for dessert. I still have a loaf and a half (the pigs!) left. The Bloody Mary’s were also a hit as always. Hee… I had a buzz after Communion this mornin’. Good thing I had OYKW to drive home. When I was taking the Chalice, the Chalice Bearer tilted the cup way up and I had to keep drinkin’. I swear it was about three-fourths full and when she finally brought the Chalice back down, there was just maybe one swallow of wine left. I was kneelin’, of course, so when I stood up I felt a little woozy. WHEE! Buzzed at the altar!
Tomorrow I shall help with the set up of lunch and the feedin’ of a bunch of workers for Habitat for Humanity. My church is makin’ lunch and takin’ it to the site. I shall meet ‘em there and help with the set up, feedin’ and clean up part. Then, tomorrow is our men’s night and I [del]got drafted[/del] volunteered to show up early and help with gettin’ stuff ready. I have decreed we shall have baked sweet N.O.T. with cinnamon butter, it bein’ Fall and all.
Nava I agree with others. Indian guy has a crush on you!
Fetch I bet they’d go good with some hushpuppies and coleslaw.
I killed the MMP! Yay!
There are no cookies in this house.
You could make some.
The Horror! The sheer HORROR!!!:eek::eek:
That is shocking, Pie! Even I have cookies.
I think the vacation pictures were BooFae’s, FCM, which was last week. There’s no one left in my signature, but I may have missed someone. So I guess it’ll be a surprise. Or as rosie mentioned, a contest for who can start us earliest.
I’m supposed to be reading my book for book group. Guess I should start it. I’m tired - did lots and lots today, but still have lots left to do.
I’ll see everyone in the next MMP…
GT
No cookies in The VunderLiar, either.
Cuz we’re nomming on the dough before they ever get baked…
I’m out of the orifice all week for a training class. Being gone and doing something different is kewl, but it’s an introductory class on SQL programming, and that sucks. Computer science weenies might like it; I’m an embedded systems software engineer, and it’s beneath my dignity. Harrumph.
FCM, you do know that Bengals tend to like water, don’t you? You’re going to need to keep a reallllllllllllllly close eye on that tank in case he decides to take a dip.
I met an online friend and a few other new people yesterday down in Twin Falls. 'Twas fun. I will definitely see them again, though I’m not sure when. But going down there does remind of of why I live up here; mountains are the best. And temps in the low 70s in October are not right. I think I confused the heck out of my poor body thermometer. Oh well, the trees up here are finally turning gold and will be at their best in the next few days. So pretty!
I have been utterly unproductive this weekend due to this cold refusing to go away quickly. It is going away, it just doesn’t seem to be in any particular hurry.
There have been fireworks going on the last few days due to this particular area apparently being big on celebrating the Indian holiday Diwali in recent years. I never knew it was celebrated with fireworks, but I guess having any excuse to fire off some pyrotechnics transcends cultural boundaries.
Had Popeye’s chicken sandwiches for dinner. I like their sandwiches. It’s actual chicken, not some pre-formed pink “mechanically separated” goop. Some mayo, lettuce and a generous dosage of Frank’s and it’s dinner.
Yep. Been an exciting weekend.
@Swampy - Ah, so that’s what that’s about. Didn’t know it had become a big problem, but I guess it makes sense. If they can cancel their contract for less than the cost of a new unlocked iPhone then I guess there’s profit to be made. But then they have to do the soft unlock, which becomes invalidated whenever the unsuspecting buyer upgrades to a firmware version that includes a new baseband version, so they’d have to learn about soft unlocking to re-unlock it. I used to jailbreak, but I stopped once I got the 3GS. I just can’t be bothered anymore.
@Doggio - A bowling league? I haven’t bowled in years, and I stunk even when I did.
I had cookies - I ate 'em all.
Off to immerse myself in Python
TTFN
I have a 126 handicap, and my team(The Booster Bombers) is just ahead of the team with no bowlers.
Years ago, my dad went to a bowling alley to inquire about leagues. “What sort of league are you looking for?” “A bad bowlers’ league.”
Wow. Isn’t that like winning an election because the only other person on the ballot is dead? (Or losing, if your name is Dan Fielding… :D)
I don’t know what my handicap is, since I only ever played socially, but I imagine if my handicap were made into a physical thing I’d be a quadruplegic deaf mute with narcolepsy and tourette’s.
