Don Juanna Is Here. It Must Be The MMP

Mom, you would be so proud of me! I’ve been a productive member of society today!

Took the dogs to the park. It’s an absolutely gorgeous day - it was about 63° this morning. I had to wear actual shoes! What’s the world coming to?

I washed two dogs, and when reaching for the dog shampoo under the sink, discovered a slow leak in the garbage disposal. I averted a national emergency because last time we had a leak, I put small plastic bins under the leak-prone spots. So woo and hoo, all I had to do was empty the icky water. After washing Ernie in the sink, and running the dishwasher, I still only have about 1/4 inch of water in the bin. Looks like we’ll need a new disposal, per Mr Rebo.

I have washed several loads of clothes, hung up one, folded one, and threw the other two loads on the couch.

I have made NOT salad, to go with Beer Can Chicken which is on the grill.

Um - that’s it! Oh, and I watched the Texas Longhorns beat OU. Go Horns!

Rebo young lady, have you folded that laundry strewn all over your couch yet? :dubious: No? Well, march yourself into that livin’ room and get busy. The sooner you start the sooner it’s done. Don’t give me that look! Do you want your face to freeze like that? Now march in there, young lady, and fold that laundry and put it away when you’re done!

I felt like lecturin’ and Rebo presented me with a reason.

::waves happily @ Myndy::

Were you around when I revealed my really big project? and an update on its progress?

Well, it’s official: The cold is going away. I could taste something today. I haven’t been able to taste anything that requires the tastebuds up front. I could do salty/sweet/sour, 'cos those use those big buds further back which were still working, but my front ones – the forebuds, if you will – were totally emo about everything I shoved in my mouth. Until today, when I actually tasted the muffin I ate. It tasted good. I also tasted the Halls Oxygen pink grapefruit cough drops, too, as before all I tasted was the mediciny part the grapefruit flavour normally did a surprisingly good job of masking.

Good. By the time it’s back to work I might even feel halfway human.

@Rosey - No, I wasn’t around, but congratulations on the progress! I have some weight I need to lose too, but if my willpower was a car, it would say “Matchbox” on the bottom.

@Swampy - iPhone fraud? I haven’t heard of this issue. What’s the deal? And where you workin’ now that you’re dealing with iPhones alla time?

@GT - Hi!

Taters - Work’s stressful for a lotta people these days I guess. I’m fortunate to work for a company that’s pretty resilient and can change gears pretty fast when we need to, so we’ve been doing alright. The work is still dull, but it’s reliable at least.

Home. Party at the bar was LOUD and crowded. My mom got toasted, and some drunk was hitting on her. I saw a couple of shirttail twin cousins (their mom and my grandmother shared a grandmother…) who are a pair of clones of their father. The eggs were pretty much inhaled. My ears are still ringing and I was glad to get out of there.

**FCD **has put the top on the aquarium stand and moved it into the house. It’s humongo!! He hasn’t made the doors yet, and he’s still got to make a hood to hold the light. I’ll have to move my picture off the wall there.

{{{Mork}}} good ta see ya!!

Catfish!!

I was wondering how long before he got in there…

someone ought to LOL that photo . . . (db? are you there?)

I worked, I watched the Canes lose 2-0(fail) and N.C. State lose 52-20(EPIC FAIL).

rosie, I’ll see what I can do.

Hey Mork! I don’t have an iPhone, I got a Nokia E71x, so swampy won’t hunt me down and kill me. Oh, I’m in a bowling league now.

Taters, you should do what Nelly does to Gordie, and bite Mr. Taters in the face. That will learn him.

catfish

So, our friends were supposed to come over tonight and we were going to finalize who’s renting the cars and through whom. We need two, apparently.

Anyway, due to our other friend’s emergency, the rest of the group was tired, and just wanted to veg.

Mr. Taters and I went ahead and grabbed some dinner at Qdoba’s and then went and saw Law Abiding Citizen. The movie was good, overall. I think the ending was definitely over the top, but it’s entertainment.

Lookin’ good, FCM. I can’t wait to see pics of the whole set-up. Does **FCD **know what kind of fish he’s going to put in the tank yet?

Taters, all I know for sure is he wants to get a shark egg and hatch it. And live rock. Beyond that, I haven’t a clue, and I don’t think he has yet, either. I suggested a bunch of lobsters like in a high-class restaurant so I can just pluck dinner out of the tank. He wasn’t too keen on that idea…

**doggio **- love it! As an aside, in the upper right of the corner, you can see the end of the mantle. Taz achieved his oft-frustrated goal of walking on the mantle last night. He does get into everything.

It’s not raining at the moment, but it’s brisk outside. I’ve got to do a critter-food-and-grocery-run today and daughter and I are going to sand the cabinet for the bathroom. I also need to run a load or 2 thru the washer. Beyond that, no real plans for the day.

Can’t believe I ahve to go back to work tomorrow. :frowning: Sure was a short week…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. 'Tis coolish out, it’s 41 Amurrkin with a wind chill of 35!

MinDude I am workin’ for AT&T, specifically with mobility. I do quality control, meanin’, I’m one of the ones who monitors calls and other assorted fun things, such as deep divin’, as we call it, to determine suspicious activities such as fraud. The iPhone fraud (I should say “suspected” fraud) is lookin’ more and more like an inside job, meanin’ probably some employees at stores are allowin’ peple to open up fraudelent accounts and purchase iPhones which they then attempt to cancel, get credits for purchases and such and resell the phones, which ain’t legal. Anywho, it’s bein’ worked on all over the country and sooner or later, the source(s) of the fraud will be found out. Plus, I am all for givin’ an IQ test to anybody before the purchase of an iPhone and refusin’ to sell to anyone who is deemed to stoopid to figure out how to operate it. Believe me, there are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many dumb people walkin’ around with the dang things. That’s what makes me want to burn iPhones.

doggio good lolcat! Goldfishsticks. Hee!

Ok, I go in search of more caffiene and sustenance to quieten rumbly tummy.

Yesterday I went to a friend’s house (from the uni’s RPG club), she was hosting one of those sexy-things parties. Had a great time.

This morning I went downtown, made the mistake of entering Weatherstone (that place ought’a be illegal), came out with four books, one of them being a collected trillogy which clocks in at some 800 pages. Stopped at the supermarket on the way back. Got to the dorm, had lunch. The indian guy came in while I was almost done, followed a bit later by the Nigerian with a friend. The Nigerian’s friend proceeded to attack a (pre-killed, thankfully) chicken on top of the stuff that was set to dry on the draining area beside the sink; when I gave him the cutting board and mentioned that’s what it’s for, he thanked me, placed it on top of the previously-clean dishes and went on butcherizing the poor chicken.

Came back to my room. Called The Nephew (it’s his 4th birthday), spoke with him and with his Dad. Did part of my 3rd quarter taxes, got the data for the rest, fired up a game. Then there was a knock on the door. 'twas the indian guy.
Me: “oh hi”
He: “hi, may I come in”
So I move out. He comes in, sits on the bed, laughs, says “oh, is that a game?”
Me: “yes…?”
He: “oh, I just want to chat”
Me: “ok…?”
He: “oh, you can sit down” (the room is small enough that if I’d been on the chair with him on the bed, there would have been a hand’s width between us - while he’s not big enough for that to feel threatening, it’s closer than I like being with someone who’s just self-invited himself)
Me: “I’m fine, thanks. What did you want to chat about?”
He: “oh, just a chat”
Me: “about…?”
He: “oh, is this a bad time? maybe I should come at another time? I’ll leave!”
Me: “I’m sorry, I’m not used to visitors coming for a chat with nothing to chat about.”

What. The. FUCK?

FCM, of course the week flew by: you didn’t stop moving the whole time! Aquarium set-up looks so cool!!! If there weren’t so much cleaning required, I’d find a place for one myself. Gotta say Taz is really a hoot. LOLcat made me, well…LOL.

Welcome to dorm life, Nava. Maybe he likes you and doesn’t know how to say so?

::waves back at Mork::

So the Columbus Marathon is running through my neighborhood today. I went out and saw a bunch of the wheelchairs and the first runners. We need to get more people out early, but this year at least there were bands spread out along our main drag and near the water/Gatorade stop a few blocks later in the course. It’s great weather for a marathon, maybe a tidge on the crisp side, but generally a great day.

Gotta get out into the garden at home, then it’s off to church, a meeting, more gardening there and at home, then dinner and scarecrow-making at a friend’s.

Anyone interested in getting us started off tomorrow?

Back later.

GT

Blurf.

Making roast beef hash for brekkies, because there’s a hunk of leftover roast beast that needs eating and a bunch of baby potatoes that need cooking.

Read everything, retained nothing, have nothing more to offer except a “Hi Mindy! Long time no see!”

I’m up and waiting for my coffee to finish brewing. Actually, it should be done…hang on a mo…yup, it was done. I now have my steaming cup of coffee and I can wake the hell up.

I didn’t know you could purchase shark eggs, FCM. On the other hand, I know next to nothing about salt water tanks, other than the fish, while beautiful, are extremely expensive and that they’re way more work than a fresh water tank.

I don’t know what today’s plans are. Some laundry and stuff, I expect.

That’s all for now.

Afternoon all! FCM, the aquarium set up looks great… and thanks Doggio for the brilliant LOLCAT! Goldfishsticks indeed. Taz hasn’t gotten in there yet, has he, FCM?!

I’ve got to do a grocery run today as well, though it shall be a small one; daughter and I will do the weekly one on Monday or Tuesday when things have dried out a bit more. And hopefully warmed up also.

Yay, good to see ya again, Mork!

My cousin is sending me a Paula Deen recipe for herbed chicken; if it turns out good, can I get it onto the recipe blog? LOL With credit to Ms. Deen, of course! With the cooler weather, I’m going to be making more crock pot recipes like stew and chili, including the chicken white chili recipe that I like. And anything with beef, mushrooms and barley! LOL

Enjoy the rest of Sunday all.

**gt **- I thought someone had already volunteered for Monday - wasn’t there someone with vacation pics or something? Or am I losing my mind again??

Back from breakfast and much shopping. All purchases are put away and there’s a nice fire just starting up. I need to do something, but I find it hard to get motivated. Maybe later. Maybe.

Taters, there’s some place on line where you can order shark eggs. But we may not do it after all - they tend to eat lots of the other tank residents, especially the non-swimming critters. But you’re not kidding about the fish being $$$. I stopped at Petco just to look - criminy, even there, they had $70 fish. On line, some were much MUCH pricier. But you don’t load up the tank all at once - you do one or two at a time, let the tank adjust, then add another couple. So the expense is spread out, so there’s that.

I should do some laundry, you know…

FCM - I seem to have several spare goldfish - I didn’t expect them to survive their first year as 'skeeter-eaters" in the pond out doors. I had to hurriedly buy them a tank that first winter. The next year, I had to add another tank - even though there were slightly LESS fish, the little buggers keep growing.

I’ll have to see if the 11 or so I suspect are still out there will even fit in their two tanks this year. Funny thing, nobody wants to give a good home to a goldfish!

The fish that I’ve seen, **FCM, **such as lionfish, were well over $100.00, FCM. There were several other species that were right in that price range or much more expensive.

I find that stores like PetSmart and PetCo seem to charge more for their aquarium supplies and fish. We go to independent shops mainly.

I know all about adding the fish slowly. Actually, you want to let the tank sit empty (except for the water, etc.) for a week or so before you add ANY fish at all.
