Hillary must NOT be lured into a pissing match with Donald. What I’ve been reading about her team pinpointing his vulnerabilities, etc., and looking for ways to skewer him: ALL WRONG. She just needs to let him blather on, dig himself a hole, and fall into it. You cannot win a shouting contest with a guy like that.

I describe useless arguments this way (especially marriage/relationship arguments, but it applies here, too): the other person jumps into a mud pit and shakes his fist at you, yells at you, insults you, provokes you, all to get YOU to jump into the pit with him/her and roll around in the mud. Do not jump into that pit. Just let them roll around, spewing garbage and getting dirtier and dirtier. If you jump in, you will BOTH be covered in mud. There is no winner in this kind of match.

Many people are saying to me, Donald Trump fucks pigs. I don’t know how true it is, I just hear things. Many people say it! Is it true? You tell me.

Republican nominee Donald Trump has placed immigration at the core of his presidential campaign. He has claimed that undocumented immigrants are “taking our jobs” and “taking our money,” pledged to deport them en masse, and vowed to build a wall on the Mexican border. At one point he demanded a ban on Muslims entering the country. Speaking to supporters in Iowa on Saturday, Trump said he would crack down on visitors to the United States who overstay their visas and declared that when any American citizen “loses their job to an illegal immigrant, the rights of that American citizen have been violated.” And he is scheduled to give a major address on immigration in Arizona on Wednesday night.

But the mogul’s New York modeling agency, Trump Model Management, has profited from using foreign models who came to the United States on tourist visas that did not permit them to work here, according to three former Trump models, all non-citizens, who shared their stories with Mother Jones. Financial and immigration records included in a recent lawsuit filed by a fourth former Trump model show that she, too, worked for Trump’s agency in the United States without a proper visa.

…Two of the former Trump models said Trump’s agency encouraged them to deceive customs officials about why they were visiting the United States and told them to lie on customs forms about where they intended to live. Anna said she received a specific instruction from a Trump agency representative: “If they ask you any questions, you’re just here for meetings.”

… When Blais lived in the apartment, she recalled, a Trump agency representative who served as a chaperone had a bedroom to herself on the ground floor of the building. A narrow flight of stairs led down to the basement, where the models lived in two small bedrooms that were crammed with bunk beds—two in one room, three in the other. An additional mattress was located in a common area near the stairs.** At times, the apartment could be occupied by 11 or more people.

“We’re hoarded into these small spaces,” Kate said. “The apartment was like a sweatshop.”**

Trump Model Management recruited models as young as 14. “I was by far the oldest in the house at the ripe old age of 18,” Anna said. “The bathroom always smelled like burned hair. I will never forget the place!” She added, “I taught myself how to write, ‘Please clean up after yourself’ in Russian.”

… A detailed financial statement provided by Blais shows that Trump’s agency charged her as much as $1,600 a month for a bunk in a room she shared with five others. Kate said she paid about $1,200 a month—“highway robbery,” she called it. For comparison, in the summer of 2004, an entire studio apartment nearby was advertised at $1,375 a month.

… Nearly three years after signing with Trump’s agency, Blais had little to show for it … “I only got one check from Trump Models, and that’s when I left them,” she said. “I got $8,000 at most after having worked there for three years and having made tens of thousands of dollars.” (The check Blais received was for $8,427.35.)

…Trump has taken an active role at Trump Model Management from its founding. He has personally signed models who have participated in his Miss Universe and Miss USA competitions, where his agency staff appeared as judges. Melania Trump was a Trump model for a brief period after meeting her future husband in the late 1990s.

My God, it’s like season 2 of The Wire. I wonder how many of these poor woman had to earn extra money via prostitution?

Much has been made of Donald Trump’s problems with a few voting groups — female voters, blacks and Hispanics, and young voters, in particular. And, to be sure, they are all problems.

But relatively speaking, his biggest problem actually appears to be with a different group: Catholics.

As much as I might agree with taking this moral high ground, I am reminded of 1988. Bush vs. Dukakis. Willie Horton. Dukakis just sitting there and taking it.

(Not that I think that Dukakis would have been all that great as POTUS, or that Papa Bush was that bad…although, he did pave the way for W. Don’t get me started…)

As much as I might agree with taking this moral high ground, I am reminded of 1988. Bush vs. Dukakis. Willie Horton. Dukakis just sitting there and taking it.

(Not that I think that Dukakis would have been all that great as POTUS, or that Papa Bush was that bad…although, he did pave the way for W. Don’t get me started…)

Same thing with Obama-Romney Debate I. Romney used Obama as a punching bag and Obama acted like that was the last place on earth he wanted to be. She doesn’t want to fling insults at him, but rather should needle him just enough to make him go into Drunk Uncle At The Thanksgiving Table Mode.

This is a wonderful story, but Trump will either completely ignore it, or say that everyone was doing it that way, and it would have put him at a financial disadvantage to do it legally, and as President, since he knows that kind of trick, he will be best positioned to keep others from doing it. And that Trump base will nod and say “Yes, he is uniquely positioned to stop it from happening! Go Trump!”

As much as I might agree with taking this moral high ground, I am reminded of 1988. Bush vs. Dukakis. Willie Horton. Dukakis just sitting there and taking it.

In this case this is especially a danger, since Trump is also pushing the idea that HRC is “low energy” or suffering from debilitating mental or physical disease. If she just sits there and lets him constantly insult her, it probably wouldn’t go well for her. At the same time, nobody is going to beat Trump in a straight-up battle of insults, and it doesn’t play to her strengths to get down in the weeds with him.

That said, Trump’s great strength is not focusing on one-on-one discussion or one topic for a lengthy period of time, and he’s got the thinnest of thin skins. The media and the public are going to want a show and Trump has a pretty low bar in order to “win” this thing, but I like HRC’s chances okay of causing him to screw up.

I remember when the 47% comment came to light- I was discussing it on FB with the mother of a friend of mine. She was ardently defending it, and agreeing with his remarks, and I asked her if she paid income tax. She said no. Her husband was on ssdi and I don’t remember why she didn’t pay any income tax. But she couldn’t make the connection between her and her husband not paying income tax, and his remarks about the 47% who can’t or won’t take personal responsibility in their lives. He wasn’t talking about her and her family. Oh, no, he was talking about those others who were dependent on government, paid no income tax, and wouldn’t take personal responsibility.

Trump rally emcee: Ban women voters who use ‘free contraception’ and we will ‘win every election’

Wayne Allen Root, who has spoken at presidential rallies with Donald Trump, this week called strip voting rights from welfare recipients and women who use “free contraception” provided by the Affordable Care Act.

During a discussion with radio host Rob Schilling on Monday, Root explained that conservatives would “win every single election” if people who received government services were barred from voting, Right Wing Watch reported.

The Trump model story has officially grown legs - Huffpost has picked up on it, although they are just providing the same link to the Mother Jones article for now. Also, just to be safe, Trump is also accusing Huma Abedin of having ties to terrorism.
