Conway doesn’t really have an idea how to make it a race. She was a good hire, because she’s much better at non-answering questions than that Katrina Fuckstick.
Katrina could never keep her shit together long enough to keep from sinking into the quicksand. Conway keeps dribbling the ball until her interlocutor gives up, which is usually only two tries. People knew Katrina was a dumb shit, so they didn’t make it easy for her. Conway looks them right in the eye with the look that says, I can do this all night, you’re not getting the ball.
There has to be a balance to the messaging. Right now they’ve overweighted to how unacceptable Trump is. They need to match that negative message of why not Trump with positive messaging why Clinton is a good choice.
The cross tabs in this recent PPP poll contain comedy gold.
50% of Hispanics have a higher opinion of bubonic plague than of Donald Trump. An additional 22% aren’t sure. Similar numbers among African-Americans.
Other things that Hispanics and African-Americans have a higher opinion of than Trump include: junk mail, bed bugs, personal injury lawyers, and middle seats on airplanes.
Interestingly, 2% of Donald Trump supporters have a higher opinion bubonic plague than Donald Trump with and additional 6% unsure. Do you think these are real beliefs or evidence of people screwing with the pollster?
Gee, I wonder why Trump is not getting the Hispanic vote ?
He is currently north of Seattle for a rally in Everett tonight. The local Q13 Fox affiliate was interviewing people on the street waiting to get in and those who are protesting. A young woman (Hispanic, LGBT, and with a Mexican flag draped over her back) was saying how she did not support Trump because of his stance on immigration and LBGT issues and how he brings out the hate in his supporters. Just as she said this a Trump supporter walked behind her and told her to wipe her ass with her flag.
OK, so Trump is thinking of going to Mexico tomorrow, before his Phoenix speech. This will do wonders to boost his vote in the critical cities of Juarez, Chihuahua, and Mexico City.
The Mexico trip actually makes good campaign sense. He was invited (as was Clinton) and, after his back-and-forth with Mexican political figures during the primary, it makes it look as though he’s being serious about his policy. We’re hitting the part of the campaign when candidates start making foreign trips (though I think Clinton said she didn’t plan to – not that she needs more foreign bonafides)
Now, of course, if he says something dumb or President Nieto tells the press “Trump assured me that he won’t build any wall and will allow amnesty for all Mexicans in the US” after the meeting then that’s another story.
