Maybe because Julian is a caged animal, and maybe his captors want him to publish damaging articles on the Clintons? If Hillary gets elected Ecuador can say “Hey, it’s just Julian being Julian - we got no control over what he writes.”
Is that a bad thing?

It’s funny that it mentions him and his children by name, “and spouse” with no name. You know, for when he changes spouses.
And why haven’t the Rolling Stones’ lawyers sent him a Cyst and Disease letter yet, or whatever it’s called?
The New York Times published an article a couple of days ago which said that their analysis showed that the majority of the time when WikiLeaks released information, it was to Russia’s benefit. No direct connection was found but it certainly is suspicious.
That’s probably the only thing they and the Rolling Stones might have in common.
This is almost certainly not a legally binding document. Any of our lawyer friends on here want to weigh in on which parts would hold up and which wouldn’t? Surprised we haven’t yet had a journalist sign the form and then challenge it in court, seems like it would be a good story.
Snowden is in Russia. It makes sense to me that he would be doing stuff in Russia’s best interest. They support him; he supports them. Maybe even not entirely willingly.
It isn’t Snowden who’s releasing this information, it’s Wikileaks. Assange is in the Ecuadoran Embassy in London.
While it is true Snowden is in Russia, the owner of Wikileaks is Julian Assange who is in self-exile in Embassy of Ecuador in London.
Edit: Just like Rick Kitchen said.
Perfect illustration of how he is incapable of crossing over to a general election campaign because of his narcissism.
He has no idea that this will be the epitaph on his friggin tombstone, and that of his base.
I don’t think a big wikileaks dump will have much effect on the election no matter what is in it. Any thing that comes from hacking Hillary’s email server in the past is immediately suspect as there is very good reason to suspect that the hackers are funded by Russia and that they will have inserted whatever incriminating evidence they want in with genuine emails.
Clinton will deny that the leaked documents are genuine, Trump supporters will rant about it but in the end I don’t think it will change many people’s minds who weren’t already going to vote for Trump.
The Internet is using “Taco trucks on every corner” as a reason to vote ***for ***Hillary.
Seriously, that just sounds amazing.
How long until someone lets Mrs. Clinton know that the internet is clamoring for her to promise “a taco truck on every corner” and she slyly references it in a speech or Q&A session thereby proving that she’s cooler than anyone thought and gaining a bunch of votes?
Wait are they Tex-Mex or genuine Mexican style Taco’s? That makes a big difference.
And if anyone doubts Assange is a Russian stooge, when the Panama leak came out showing the Putin’s cronies have money stashed overseas, Assange attacked it.
That rapist is a piece of scum.
We don’t know he is a rapist, but we do know he is scum.
A verbal agreement? With that snake? Good luck with that. :dubious:
