Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

She sure is.

Of course even on the same video Clinton appears walking fine a bit later. I think we can count on Trump to overreach and show his misogynist piggy side yet again.

Does anyone else find it surprising that the Clinton campaign and associated groups have outspent the Trump campaign and associated groups by essentially 3-1 (according to opensecrets.org) and yet the race is still within a 2-3 points? I would’ve guessed that all those couple hundred million extra would’ve bought Clinton more of a lead. I’m surprised it’s been so … ineffective.

You can lead the idiots to facts but you can’t make 'em think.

Trump gets more free advertisement courtesy of the “liberal” media than Hillary could ever pay for. You don’t need to spend money when everything you say is front page news.

Put the soap box right over there. A little to the right, yeah, there.

Its because the old paradigms are broken. The main support for the theory of fund-raising as God is the expense of advertising, especially TV advertising. What if that doesn’t work any more?

Remember Jeb!? How he had it all sewn up because of the big donors, plenty of money for advertising, suck all the oxygen out of the room? Remember when they spent $40 million on New Hampshire primary hoping only to move the needle a couple of points? The Old Paradigm said that it couldn’t miss. But it did. Five paces from the side of the barn with a shotgun, and totally missed.

And small donors. Bernie’s big gift to us, showing us that lots of people who need their money are willing to part with some of it to further our cause. Not supposed to work that way.

There is great confusion under Heaven, and the situation is excellent. That was Lincoln.

I am actually not surprised that it has impacted the polls little. This country is pretty highly polarized. I think relatively few people are actually able to be swayed. Today’s RCP two-way rolling average is +3.1. Average RCP rolling average lead in the two-way was about Clinton +3.5 in June (range 1.5 to 6.8), in July +2 to 3 (range +4.8 to -1.1), and through her prolonged convention bounce amplified by Trump’s attack on the Khans in August it averaged about +5 to 6 (range +7.7 to +3.9). The ads are merely reinforcing what voters are already aware of and they are not as effective as fresh Trump material. They cannot move the polling needle much and I at least would not expect them to.

The efficacy of the outlay will be determined on election day. Does it relatively suppress turnout among those who might have been his supporters? Does it, and the highly invested in GOTV infrastructure, help turnout among hers?

Prevarication by the Trump campaign is old news but at the beginning of this Rachel Maddow episode she gives examples of Trump’s campaign editing anti-Trump comments to make them pro-Trump, and then showing them in press releases.

Pneumonia, it turns out.

Can’t wait 'til Donald makes a diagnosis of what’s wrong with Hillary.

I’m counting on him to overplay his hand and come up with a misogynist “blood coming out of her wherever” type of comment.

Sounds like one of your parties, sir.

I’m thinking they’re strategizing to take the high road, in an attempt to make him look thoughtful and compassionate. His innate phoniness will still be invisible to too many.

Whatever “They” are strategizing, it won’t matter, because Donald will not be able to keep his mouth shut when he gets in front of a crowd/camera.

I’ll bet he’s busting a gut trying to keep it in.

Trump has a hernia?
At least he will finally be trussworthy.

Trump: “Doc, how soon till I can have sex again?”
Doc: “As soon as you can hold your arm out without pain.”

Here’s a blast from the past; in the aftermath of 9/11, Trump bragged that he now owned the tallest building in Manhattan and said the twin towers weren’t “great” buildings until they got destroyed.

He likes buildings that didn’t get destroyed by terrorists. OK?

Yeah, those World Trade Center towers were LOSERS.

To be fair, lots of New Yorkers used to hate the Twin Towers. They just shut up about it after 9/11.

I’m sorry, what? I used to shop there, performed some State audits there, and my sister worked there every day. I feel I have a reasonably close connection to the site.

Who hated the WTC? Workers? Developers? Cites, please.
