That was me. Her body, neck, and head were locked up stiff, like a board. She stared ahead motionless while waiting for the van never turning her head to converse with her doctor/nurse/handler.
Looked catatonic-like to me. But hey, I get it. I shouldn’t believe my lying eyes because,
Nah. I would be better of asked in general terms of Trump, then have the answer revealed to Doc Oz. This way Trump can’t give an answer tailored to suit his host beforehand.
The real “because” was quite obviously that your eyes aren’t licensed to make medical diagnosis from a 20 second video clip. Don’t feel bad though, they don’t hand out those licenses to anyone because that would be stupid.
And you said you didn’t see any evidence that her feet left the ground. Link please!
Look, seeing her being lifted/dragged into the car is undeniable. I was honestly afraid she’d drop. Quit being silly. Here’s the video:
If you watch the bottom of the screen you see her feet quite clearly being dragged over the curb. Her feet are not even trying to keep up with her body.
Military personnel and veterans have been voting heavily Republican forever. The splits in the ABC poll are not at all unusual, or even impressive. Romney crushed Obama among people in or formerly in uniform, as did McCain - by LARGER margins than Trump is winning.
For Trump, a 19-point spread in servicepeople and veterans isn’t good, it’s bad. It should be well into the 20s.
That said, these polls lump together a great many very different groups, and I’d look at them with a great deal of skepticism. Veterans are an extremely wide range of people, including both a really old guy who fought in Korea and a kid who just did his required service and was honorably discharged three months ago.
It is next to impossible to make out WHAT is happening with all those feet with that big red filter accusing her of being drunk over the top of the lower part of the video, but I didn’t see any feet being dragged.
So the Trump thread is full of discussions of Hillary and vice versa. Yay.
From the version of the video I’ve seen, it looks as if she has a brief fainting spell and the people with her hold her up long enough to help her into the car. If she’s being “dragged” it’s just from the curb to the car - a distance of about a foot or so.
I’ve fainted twice in public - once on a very crowded train, and once during a choral concert. In both cases it was very warm and humid and I was tired and had been standing without moving for a long period. In neither case did it turn out to be catatonia, throat chlamydia or whatever the RWNJ theory-of-the-day is - I just had to sit and sip some water for a few minutes, and I was fine. It happens.
Here’s another list of bizarro things from the past 12 hours of the Trump campaign that are seemingly being ignored by large chunks of the media and electorate:
-During an interview this morning, Trump made an off-handed lie about his personal finances: He said, “I don’t even invest in the stock market,” despite this not being even remotely true.
-He made a racist remark about a sitting Senator, calling Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas” again.
-Says that Fed Chair Janet Yellen should be ashamed of herself for what she’s doing to the country by keeping interest rates low-- what, she should be ashamed of helping the economy?
-His surrogate Ret. Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn went on CNN to denounce the TPP by saying “We have to stop having China do everything for our country economically. I mean that’s a big deal. This whole, you know, trans pacific trade agreement with China. I mean, I just think that there’s so many-- there’s so many things that we are involved in today that have just been utter failures over frankly the past couple of decades.” Now, how you feel about the TPP notwithstanding, China’s not even a part of the freaking TPP. But Trump’s right-hand-military-man is charged with publicly talking about the TPP without actually having the most basic idea of what’s in it.
Any of these things would’ve made headlines in past presidential campaigns, but as Matthew Yglesias from Vox points out, we’re numb to Trump’s bullshit. And remember, all of these things were said today, not over the course of the past three months.
But all anyone can talk about is whether or not Hillary dragged her toe before going out of bounds.
Your Honor, the defense is willing to stipulate that Secretary Clinton, as a result of her battle with pneumonia, was overcome and momentarily passed out while being helped into a waiting vehicle. Whether or not her feet were touching the ground is of little import.
Whoa. What a weird feeling, looking at pictures of the BOK tower. Like if your cousin died years ago, but then you just now found out she had a sister that had been adopted by some other family, and now you meet the sister.
