Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

Also discussed in this thread.

The best part of the article is the editor’s note at the end.

HuffPost puts that at the end of every article about Donald Trump.

Strictly speaking, everybody else promised that Mark would go naked in his next movie. Full Monty, baby.

Meanwhile, my current favourite thing is the Trump supporter interviewed on The Daily Show who thinks we ought to get to the bottom of what Obama was doing on 9/11/2001 and why he wasn’t in the Oval Office that day. That’s a whole new special reality that guy’s living in, right there.

More like the Incredible Hulk versus the Stan Lee cameo character.

“Wait, what? I didn’t agree to that.”

One of Trump’s lackeys undermines his efforts to get the African-American vote.

According to this Trumpette, there was no racism before Obama took office.

So, if Joe the Plumber offered to cut your taxes down to zero — or better yet, give you extra money — you’d prefer him to Trump? That’s no less intelligent than Trump’s “plan.”

Trump’s plan adds a Trillion dollars to the annual deficit. Is that a problem for you? Will your magic man make that deficit disappear with his super-long fingers?

It’s sad that “thinkers” who just vote, like a one-goal Pavlov’s dog, for whoever promises the biggest tax cut are even allowed to vote.

Return to my question addressed to you a day ago, and select one of the options.

Robert Reich is a brilliant intellectual, a successful public servant, author and teacher. In your short paragraph you make several blunders showing a mind-boggling lack of logic. The idea you could “go toe to toe” with Reich almost made me spill coffee on my screen!

 Reich’s comments had nothing to do with genetics or familial relationships — yet those are the comparisons you seek? Strike One.
 Investments compound. If you had a billion dollars in 1974, it would be natural to have $10 billion in 1989. That has nothing to do with genetics or Reich’s theories — yet you don’t seem to understand this much. Instead you seem to think academic success should also compound: if Reich published ten papers in a year; his son should publish 100 papers a year. Strike Two.
 Reich chose a career in academia and public service; yet you want to make a comparison as though business success is the sole criterion of worth. Strike Three.

We could discuss your intellectual prowess in greater detail, if you wish. Start a Pit thread.

The thing with Trump supporters is that they live in their own little world where facts simply do not matter. They come to their conclusions by how they FEEL, and the actual world of factual information is discarded.

I do like how this particular article outlines this plainly, with little editorial comment:

In this particular case, (in addition to the idiotic comments about the lack of any racism in Ohio before Obama), the Chair of the Ohio Trump campaign said about her county:

She then went on to explain that this imaginary low voter turnout among blacks (which does not actually exist), is there because of how blacks are raised. Good God. Textbook racism and idiocy. Ignoring facts in favor of her own biases and stupidity. Then making up explanations based on her own racism.

I guess this is what she “feels”. The article then gave the actual facts:

But you see, the facts do not matter to Trump supporters. They know what is happening, based on how they “feel”.

Speaking of Skittles, apparently, by using that photo, Trump Jr. committed copyright infringement.

I’m usually pretty skeptical of “copyright infringement” claims like this. The usual result seems to be that the use of ____ is covered by the “fair use” exception.

They already blame Obama for the failure of FEMA during Hurricane Katrina.

My wife is an amateur photographer who takes her intellectual property rights very seriously. IIRC, she uses Flickr specifically because it enables her to maintain her copyright on any photos she uploads. I know she’d be furious if one of her pictures was used by the Trump campaign without permission, fair use or not.

I can’t say whether Trump Jr’s usage would be considered “fair use”, since that’s very subjective. Regardless of whether or not it fits the legal definition of copyright infringement, it was a stupid move since it opens them up to litigation. Even if Kittos doesn’t sue, his statement still added another element to the story that further undermined the intended message. Think of all the trouble they could have avoided if they had used a stock photo website.

Not what I see, there was no acknowledgment of the source, typical from people that are just into shenanigans. And that is not even what is being taught in college.

Fuck that. Donald fucking Trump Jr. couldn’t go buy a fucking bag of Skittles and take his own fucking picture? Is he broke? Is the HD camera on his phone too complicated for him to use? :dubious:

Has anyone seen Starving Artist lately?

Once again, Clinton’s best strategy is letting Trump and his lackeys shoot their own feet off.

Aaaaand she’s gone.

Is anyone keeping track of Trump’s failed staffers? There’s the idiotic Kathy Miller, the guy who kept pulling guns on co-workers, Manafort and his suspicious Russian connections, Lewandowski and his alleged manhandling of reporters. Anyone else? Lewandowski is still on the Trump campaign’s payroll, even. Is Katrina Pierson still on the team? It’s been a while since I saw a news story about her claiming that Vietnam was Obama’s fault or some such garbage.

But can you just go out and buy a bag of poisoned skittles? Didn’t think of that did you hotshot.

What is worse are the failed staffers and fellow travelers Trump has as his personnel.

Like women’s harasser Roger Allies, Pravda of the west Breitbart staffers, racial profiler and still birther Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Climate change denier energy adviser to Trump Rep. Kevin Cramer, etc, etc.
