Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

Trump has his very own African-American.

Has anyone else noticed Donald now uses the phrase “I’m building a wall” like most people say “um” or “uh.” It’s gotten to be like a nervous tic.

Here he talks about his wall 11 times in 60 seconds.

And this interview with Jake Tapper on CNN is painful to watch. The man is such an oily piece of shit, he can’t stop talking for a minute because if he did he’d have to actually listen to-- and answer-- a question. He’ll just drop “I’m building a wall. A wall. And I’m going to do great with Hispanics” at completely random moments! There’s something seriously, seriously wrong with this guy! He has the most fucked up nervous tic ever!

Oh and then there was that time today when he called out a black guy at his rally by saying “Look at my African-American over here!”

How in the bloody fuck have we gotten to this point? How can any decent, moral person think that this candidate is an acceptable choice to be our next president? If he was running as a Democrat, and Jeb! Bush was the Republican nominee, or Kasich, or Rubio, your fucking-a right I’d cast my vote for the (R) candidate.

Tribal identity is strong. Us vs them!

Well, it looks like the Tribe of Trump has Baghdad Bob and Joe Isuzu as advisors of the fearless leader.

Trump’s Business Acumen is in Losing Life-Altering Sums of Money and Being in Massive Amounts of Debt!

(You can tell I’ve been on Facebook and Twitter too long today, right? )

Couldn’t sleep tonight so decided to do a quick review of 16 years worth of 10-k* filings from Trump’s casino holdings (1993-2010), getting some basic numbers down and putting them in a spreadsheet.

I made a quick graphic and put it on Facebook, but for here, simple numbers will suffice:

16-year Total Revenue: $16.2 billion
16-year Total Operating Income: $441 million
16-year Total Net Income: -$1,369 billion
16-year Total Debt Interest Expense Paid: $2,703 billion
16-year Average Long-Term Debt on Books: $1,246 billion
16-year Average Short-Term Debt on Books: $252 million

Trumps casinos made a piddling 2.7% in operating income over the course of 16 years and lost, on average, $85 million a year.

Billionaires, true billionaires, do not do this. They consistently make money. They might have bad years, especially the finance and real estate guys, but the true winners make up for it. I haven’t seen any making up for bad years with Little Man - they’ve all been bad.

Oh, and there are plenty of discussion of lawsuit settlements with various states, which is surprising because I heard that the Donald doesn’t settle?

*Financial statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Wow, no one wants to discuss the violence at Trump’s San Jose rally? Doesn’t anyone here want to justify the attacks by Bernie supporters against those who peacefully attended? Isn’t anyone proud that their fellow Trump haters carry Mexican flags instead of American flags? These are your people. Trump derangement syndrome appears to be real.

It’s wrong, just as Trump himself encouraging violence against peaceful protesters at his rallies is wrong. What’s to discuss?

I condemn the violence. Bernie does as well, come to think of it. And I condemn those who incite violence; it’s my understanding that Bernie condemns them likewise. And neither he nor I seem to have told anyone to hit anybody; nor do either of us seem to have offered to pay anyone’s legal fees for, y’know, such attacks.

What more do you want?

How do you know they are Bernie supporters? I’ve heard they are agitators paid by the Trump campaign to create a false flag incident.

Okay, even ignoring the lack of connection to the previous statements (how insane we consider Trump has very little to do with his opponents), I find it hard to take this even remotely seriously. To quote Wiki:

American conservative pundit and former psychiatrist[123] Charles Krauthammer, noting the reaction of liberals to George W. Bush and his policies, in a 2003 column coined the term Bush Derangement Syndrome to describe “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency—nay—the very existence of George W. Bush”.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but if you aren’t worried about the existence of Trump as a presidential candidate and the impact his proposed policies would have, then you haven’t been paying attention. “Trump derangement syndrome” is not a syndrome, it’s a completely reasonable reaction. Perhaps a better term would be “Trump complacency syndrome”, to describe those not worried about his candidacy.

Trump no longer believes that this is due to the judge’s “Mexican heritage”.

Those assholes don’t speak for me. What makes you think they’re my responsibility?

And I predict it will not make one lick of difference to half the country, who will be voting for him nonetheless. It has been firmly demonstrated by now that information:rolleyes: does not matter any more. All that matters is Red Team vs Blue Team.

But people with morals or common sense don’t support him. Be gobsmacked that fully half the country lacks either. And be gobsmacked back in 2004 when they proved it by re-electing GWB. I am more gobsmacked that Obama managed to win twice.

That is all the gobs I can smack right now.

Well, sure is worrisome to see about half of Americans voting for him, but it is more likely that it will be just a bit less than half.

Let us be very clear here … from reports it seems that there individual protestors and individual Trump supporters both were involved with starting individual altercations (“Some Trump opponents appeared to attack supporters without provocation”). There are enough assholes to go around.

What matters is how strongly leadership condemn these sorts of actions by those who claim to be their supporters. Or if they fan the fire.

Match the politician to the statement:

“It’s deplorable no matter who’s doing it.”

Those who resort to violence “are not the supporters that I want.”

“… small group of thugs burned Am flag!”

President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho returns.

I imagine they could just put The Donald’s own words into Camacho’s mouth and it would get their point across…and be hilarious.

The amazing thing is Trump still has Latino Republicans to lose.

The stances people take in this election are going to mark them for a long time to come.

I would be surprised if Trump didn’t declare sometime soon that having a “Mexican” judge is equivalent to the all-white juries of the Jim Crow era.

It truly is fascinating (and horrifying) to watch the Trump ‘campaign’ roll forward. What’s going to be interesting is how the republicans, both individually and collectively, treat Trump in the coming weeks.

I think there were moments a week or so ago when it looked like it was safe to start supporting Trump. But the last week has been a total disaster for Trump - arguably his worst week yet. I agree with you: the effects will be felt for a long time and the republican party will not escape those effects - even if Hillary self-destructs and loses. In some ways, Donald Trump losing would be the best thing to happen to republicans.

Good twitter help for Trump is hard to find… Either that or he remains a cheapskate or he is the one continuing to make his classic boneheaded tweets.
