I will add The Notes from James Fallows to my bookmarks.
Apologies if this has already been posted: Trump denies having thin skin. His skin is strong.
Well that settles that!
Strong - and thick!
And it’s so hard, you have no idea.
Trump should just announce that he thinks all judges should be banned from the US. That way, he can accuse every one of them of not being fair to him. Case closed!
Everyone knows oranges have strong skins.
Brilliant! And, of course, add, for good measure, that all IRS auditors should be banned from the US! Now they can’t touch him!
And all of the voters in the US should be banned from the country. Now everyone HAS to vote for him, other wise they’re biased against him!
Odds that Trump has already thought of this…???
Certainly it would be easier to get a table at 21 Club, if all the hoi polloi has been expelled.
Senate Majority Head Coward won’t say if Trump’s judge attack was racist
I’ll bet his spine is a cheap knock-off made in China.
A chocolate eclair has more spine than McConnell.
Pointing out that a Hispanic judge may have fallen prey to the myth that attacking illegal immigration = racism against all Mexicans/Hispanics and that said judge might therefore be biased against him is not racism.
There’s a difference between favoring border security and stating that Mexico sends us their rapists, their drug dealers, their criminals. I am sure that the judge has handled cases involving flaming racist assholes before and will give Trump as fair a trial as he would anyone else. What Trump is attacking is the judge’s personal integrity and ginning up anti-Hispanic fever among his deranged supporters.
Don has questioned a federal judge’s integrity based on his ethnicity. He’s called him “a Mexican” repeatedly, even though it’s been pointed out to him repeatedly that the judge is an American, born and raised in Indiana. No one’s calling Don “a German,” so why is Don calling this guy “a Mexican?” It couldn’t be to gin up anti-Mexican/anti-Latino sentiment, right? What if a black candidate were using loaded language to gin up anti-white sentiment? Would that be acceptable to you, or would you consider it racist?
You want to know who has shut up? Paul Ryan - one tweet since the endorsement, about Ali, when he was averaging about 2 a day prior. (@Pryan, not @SpeakerRyan, which is helmed by an intern)
No, but saying that a Mexican judge (FTR, he’s an American of Mexican descent) can’t do his job as a judge because of his ethnicity is racist – and that’s what Donald said. He also denied that saying it is racist.
And he said it about any Muslims who may be judges, and in time, somebody will get him to say the same about female judges, black judges, etc.
Ben Stein is emblematic of what is wrong with the modern Republican Party.
Stein says about Trump: "I don’t think Trump knows a goddamn thing about economics’ "
When asked how the economy would do under Trump, Stein says "It would get much worse. In terms, it would be a disaster. Trade is very important. "
But he says he will vote for Trump anyway. To hell with how he’ll damage the country. Why? "I’ll vote for him, by the way. I’ll vote for him because I think he does personify a kind of national pride which I think has been lacking in the Obama days "
So basically, Stein is wiling to vote for someone who he is sure will seriously damage the economy, because “America, Yay!” That’s it. That’s all that matters.
Good God.
Well, Ryan is an Irishman, and so he is biased against Trump.
