Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

Besides what others pointed, it has to be mentioned that the Trump U case is not about race. Point being that even if it was not racist what Trump is doing he is using a red herring as his argument.

Besides, the now judge did prosecute many drug Traffickers and smugglers and in the past he has been threatened before for sending many to prison. So he has no reason whatsoever to be biased in favor of illegals, particularly the ones that Trump and many other conservatives claim that the democrats are not doing anything about.

Donald Trump says we would be better off if Gaddafi was still in power:

Oh wait, that was in February. Today, he said a surgical strike to take out Gaddafi would have been better:

It’s two, two, two Trumps in one! There’s something for everybody.

You can’t trust that, because it was on "Face the Nation, with interviewer John Dickerson. Dickerson grew up in Washington DC, so that makes him a political insider, and is therefore biased against Trump.

He’s right, you’re wrong.

If he were saying that Mexicans as a whole can’t do their jobs properly, that would be racist. If he was saying that Mexicans make lousy judges, that would be racist. Saying that one particular judge’s Hispanic heritage may prejudice him against Trump because of Trump’s anti-illegal immigration stance is merely acknowledging the obvious.

Plus, judges are human and subject to some of the same foibles as the rest of us. Witness the lengthy sentence O.J. Simpson received from a female judge for the same or lesser crimes that others have been convicted of, served time and been released while still in their twenties. This isn’t sexism, it’s a fact. And the facts makes it appear that this judge took it upon herself to avenge Nicole Simpson’s death to the greatest degree the law would allow. Alan Dershowitz has said as much himself and was promptly accused also of questioning the judge’s integrity. No one is above having their motives or their integrity questioned, and that includes judges.

Nah, Trump was acknowledging the ignorance that he has.

Newt Gingrich, that has been pointed out as a possible VP for Trump is not amused.

The Newt then goes to demur that it better not be racism, but sloppiness by Trump, but it is clear to me that Newt is aware of what Trump is doing. If not racism, to me it points to bigotry from the part of Trump.

It’s racism. Not “racially charged”, not “racially insensitive”… just racist.

Do you honestly not see how stupid this is? “One particular judge’s Hispanic heritage” prejudices him in this situation? So does that mean another specific judge’s Hispanic heritage wouldn’t prejudice him?

If the judge publicly stated previously that he is against Trump or Trump’s wall or Trump’s anti-immigrant stance, Trump’s accusation of prejudice might be legit. But Don is questioning the integrity of this judge simply because of his race/ethnic heritage. That makes his statement racist, and I have yet to see any conservatives who aren’t blatant racists defend Don’s current argument. If you continue to publicly defend this line of attack, you may have to be moved out of the column of Conservatives Who Aren’t Blatant Racists.

Did you read this before you hit “post”? Because it’s unbelievably stupid. It’s wrong on so many levels and about so much that it’s hard to believe someone could have written it, read it thru and thought “yep, that’s perfect; I’m gonna post this as is”.

Mr. Trump has not questioned the judges integrity, he’s assailed it. And the only reason he’s given for the assault is the judge’s heritage. It’s racist.

IT’s most definitely racist. The more important question is, is it true?

Seeing how Trump’s lawyers in the case have not filed any motions to move the case to a new judge (despite Trump’s public complaints of bias), the answer to that question is more than likely “no.”

Sounds about right.

Also, if it was true, Trump would be able to make his case. Jake Tapper gave him every opportunity to do so, and he wouldn’t:

Is what true? All judges born in the United States with Mexican heritage are inherently biased against Trump?

This is idiotic on it’s face, and insults the integrity of ALL judges in the country.

Has Trump ever backed up anything he’s said?

It’s been my anecdotal experience that legal immigrants (and, I would think, their native born children) are MORE hostile to illegal immigrants than other Americans. So I disagree that this is obvious.

Bricked would know better than I, but I would of think any lawyer who says “this judge should be disqualified based on his ethnic heritage” would face the possibility of charges before the bar.

That’s not what he said. He said that because this judge had Mexican heritage, he couldn’t do his job. Trump said that having Mexican heritage is incompatible with being a judge, at least for a case involving Trump. It’s entirely unreasonable for Trump to demand that a judge for his case cannot have a certain ethnic background. Do you think it would be reasonable for Dylan Roof to say that his case shouldn’t have a black judge?

That’s racist in a very basic way.

Who knows? it’s irrelevant to the case. And we’re not taking about a b-list celebrity sitting on a reality show panel, this is a man whose legal career spans five decades, who was appointed to the CA superior court by a republican governor 10 years ago and who has been a federal judge since 2011. There’s absolutely no reason to believe he can’t separate any personal feelings he may have from his job on the bench. And the very fact you’re questioning it is just as bad as Don’s questioning it and SA defending it.

I’m a lawyer who practices before federal judges at the district and appellate courts – I have NEVER encountered any situation where I or another lawyer have had to file such a motion, but I can imagine certain situations when such a motion would be reasonable. Trump’s case (and his accusations) is not one of them. I know Starving Artist doesn’t think so, but let’s be clear about this – saying that federal judge (or, in fact, anyone) can’t do their job properly because of their ethnic heritage, regardless of the fact he was born in the United States and is a full American citizen, is just straight up racism.
