I have no idea if the “more” is true, but here in San Antonio it’s very common for wealthy “Mexican Nationals” (as citizens of MX are commonly called here) to come here for weekend trips that likely cost over $10k… and *nobody *sneers at them more than the local Hispanic population.
My wife was walking with three women surnamed Garcia, Mendoza, and Salazar at the local ritzy outdoor mall when she got an earful about this: how to tell if a person is a MN, how floozy they are, etc. It’s all my wife could do from not laughing/reacting with horror/interrogating them to find out more, because of how fascinated she was at this view into a mindset which she never, before then, even conceived existed.
That is one of the reasons why the Dems should not take the Latino vote for granted… the two (Dems and Latinos) are not always on the same page.
Except for this year. Trump has pissed a lot of the local Hispanic population off, though they are as against illegal immigration as any other moderate Republican. This could be another Goldwater moment for the party.
And now he’s disgusted with Trump. Good job Donald. Not satisfied with losing most of the black vote, The Donald is working on trashing all of it. Not happy with dumping the Hispanic vote down the toilet this election, The Donald wants to make sure that they don’t vote for the Republicans for a generation or so.
Who isn’t disgusted with Donald Trump? I have a Republican brain, so if he doesn’t say anything ridiculously hateful or stupid for more than three days I start to want to like him, but that feeling never lasts long.
Scott Adams, of Dilbert fame, just gave Trump a backhanded endorsement. Adams is pointing out, in his trademark ironic style, that the violence in San Jose will drive white folks to vote for Trump in droves.
I agree that violence against his supporters only helps him, but it just doesn’t look too likely to me. For what it’s worth though I do think he’s setting himself up as a guy who will dominate the white working class vote in ways no Republican has done yet. Somehow a New York billionaire has captured their imagination.
Somewhere, there is a twisted mind that is contemplating the prospect that this is precisely why Trump is campaigning in California. Thinking the Trump is looking for his *Reichstag *moment, to pump up his nativist base with some Law and Order.
A candidate should be able to campaign anywhere, and if his very presence is going to incite people to act like they don’t live in a democracy, then he should DEFINITELY campaign there. And the law should crack some heads and put people in jail for subverting democracy.
Nope, not at all. Lemme see if I can analogize things so as to make my point clear. Let’s say a woman has been aggrieved because she’s been raped and she is then called to jury duty in a rape case. The likelihood is that she’s not going to make for an unbiased juror, and so she’s dismissed from performing jury duty in this case. Does that mean the people who dismissed her are sexist? Does it mean they have it in for all women? Or that they’re saying women can’t do their jobs as jurors?
The answer is, of course not. What it means is that in this particular case, this particular juror is likely to hold a pre-existing bias that will prevent her from arriving at an unbiased conclusion as to the guilt of the accused.
Now, having said all that, allow me to remind you all of something I’ve said about Trump all along, which is that he’s rarely doing what he appears to be doing. There’s almost always another level involved (if not several) that is intended to pay off for him in some way that isn’t obvious. So think for a minute about what is likely to occur as a result of Trump’s having put this judge and this trial under such a microscope. I’ll wager it’s going to be the most by-the-book trial ever to take place, with the judge taking great pains taken to make sure everything is done above board and he may well find himself bending over backward not to show bias toward Trump, which of course stands to benefit Trump as he’ll likely get a significant degree of preferential treatment that he likely wouldn’t have gotten in a less publicized trial.
The Donald is a tricky one and you should always look for ulterior motives as to why he does anything, because as I said he’s rarely trying to do what he appears to be trying to do on the surface.
He’s not playing fifth dimensional chess. He’s an entitled, racist cunt with delusions of competence, playing to the an angry, ignorant crowd.
Dunning-Kruger makes him think he knows what he’s talking about, and ignorant folk like people who they think are alphas. Simple as that. Smart people don’t think Obama is a foreigner, or that Mexico will build a wall.
