Seems pretty straight-forward (at least now, when there are virtually no facts to work with … but when has that ever stopped the commentary)
Hillary: guns and/or anti-gay hate crime. Trump: Muslims.
Dems spin mass shootings as a need for gun control.
Repubs spin mass shootings as either terrorism or “mental illness” depending on the ethnicity of the shooter.
We were safe under Bush except for the thousands killed in 9/11, and the thousands of American servicemen killed overseas for nothing, and numerous other small attacks…
The body count for Americans under Obama is orders of magnitude lower than it was under Bush. We’ve been much, much safer under Obama.
Not at home, although this kind of attack is not very preventable. This wasn’t an infiltration by enemy operatives, this is just some dude who went into a murderous rage over two guys kissing.
I suppose it couldn’t hurt to start asking immigrants about their views on homosexuality before deciding whether to let them come here, but it’s not clear if this guy got his hate from his parents or from the internet.

He was born here-27 years ago. He’s had plenty of time to develop his own views. No need to blame his parents.

That is correct. People may think this sort of thing plays into Trump’s hand, but that’s not the case.
If the Daily News report is accurate Homophobia was there already for the perpetrator, and the trigger was having to explain to his son why some of “those people” were kissing in public. I also think that radicalization had something to do but it looks like there were also mental issues involved.

Clearly you didn’t read the posts to which you responded; if you had, you’d see that I wasn’t asserting Trump’s respect for campaign finance rules or determination to be restricted by campaign finance rules or likelihood of seeing campaign finance rules as relevant to his desire to get his money back. (I was asserting the opposite.)

Trump hugging the flag during a rally. Trump accepting congratulations after the shooting in Florida. This had got to reflect negatively on him, right? Someone please tell me the majority of Americans are not this self-centered and stupid.
That’s what it always comes back to, for me: a continuing astonishment that anyone could find that individual worthy of, gadzooks, admiration.
How is it possible? How could anyone look at that and approve? How could brains of individuals of the same species work as differently as that?

What, exactly would Obama have done to make us safer from attacks by an American born shooter like this one? Close the boarder? no help. Ban Muslims from entering the US? no help. Ban assault rifles? worth a try perhaps.
Sounds like this dude was already on the FBI’s radar. But the gun-humpers have made sure that we can’t take away the RIGHT of someone like this to purchase as much person-killing hardware as he can carry. He was allowed to legally purchase military-grade weapons, despite being a known risk. Because FREEDOM. Thanks NRA.
