Donald Trump's 2016 General Election Campaign

Hee hee… The treasurer of a pro-Trump PAC is a convicted Ponzi scheme fraudster who actually got a villain on the TV show Leverage based on him.

She took back and renounced her comments. Trump has not. And her being wrong in the past doesn’t excuse Trump from saying racist things.

In all fairness, this would give Christie something to do too as Trump’s veep.

Never mind, he already does that.

Interesting. Trump’s going to meet with the NRA about getting people on the terror watch list banned from buying guns. I guess it does make sense to work directly with the people who write our nation’s gun laws.

Now let’s see how fast conservatives applaud the common sense gun control Trump’s advocating-- you know, the very thing President Obama and Democrats have been fighting for for months. But was repeatedly dismissed by Republicans because it was a partisan, un-American gun grab by Washington weaklings.

Either that or this is the straw that breaks the camel’s back (so to speak) with his gun-fellating followers and they rise up against him

Quite frankly, I doubt that will alienate many of his fans because none of them think they’ll ever be on a terror watchlist. The NRA will never go for it under the line that such a rule removes a Constitutional right without any trial or recourse.

I hate when I agree with the NRA, but I agree with the NRA. I don’t think guns should be in the constitution, but they are in the constitution.

It’s hard to argue with. We hear all the time about the wrong people getting put on the no-fly list and you’re then going to curtail someone’s Constitutional right based on that?

I’m also in favor of gun rights, I also do think that one should not ignore that bit about being a “well regulated militia”. IMHO the more eyes on who should **not **be on the list the better, it is something that I would agree the NRA should be **helping **with, trying to avoid it or to stop a more sensible regulation only leads in the long run to a complete collapse of support on what they do.

We can’t get to something “well regulated” by slapping ad hoc labels on people without proper process.

A US soldier responds to Trump insinuating that he was a thief.

IMHO the NRA has made a lot of hay of their repeated use of an slippery slope. Time to say that it is nonsense after the courts supported the basic idea that all Americans have the right. And even Trump (based on the latest reports) agrees with that.

I don’t even know what that means, and I am not talking about a slippery slope. I am talking about abridging someone’s rights without due process.

Hence the point I made that more eyes like the NRA being critical **and **supporting changes to that no fly list or other lists that restrict the ownership of guns are needed.

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the [del]precipitate[/del] problem. As noted, it is amazing that even Trump can get that.

I think that many in the NRA would be OK with this, as long as the “due process” was a religious test.

Maybe we’re having a language issue, but how does a no fly list end the problem of restricting rights without due process?

Sure, which is why the NRA is a giant bag of suck. But giant bags of suck can still be right on occasion.

Oh my freakin’ God. Trump is just a cornucopia of riches for Hillary; he just can’t stop feeding her things with which to beat him over the head. Women, Hispanics, and now the military. As Elrond said, “our list of allies grows thin”.

Can we move the NRA/gun rights discussion elsewhere, and get back to bashing Trump?

Yes. Sorry!
