…Rob — or whatever your name is — you are one stupid fuck.
Damn it, Donell. You constantly bragged about how you liked to push all of Abe’s buttons you could. It was clear early on that you thought he was no more than white trash from the boonies. You are an arrogant, shiftless, treacherous snake.
It was Abe who encouraged and helped you every step of the way. He asked you nicely to stop your disrespect after the first few days. He’s the one who helped you get what you call your “fat ass” up the stairs when you didn’t think you could make it.
But you couldn’t resist being a dick, and as far as I’m concerned, you asked for the ass-whuppin’ you got. Well, Abe’s gone, but the infection is still there. You, you knot-head. You.
And Rob, all I can say to you is this — it is to laugh. Ha.
Donell is on Road Rules (as was Abe). And Rob was on For Love or Money.
Abe was a naive country boy who trusted with too little discrimination. Donell is a fucking pig. Rob rejected the woman who loved him and chose the woman who loved the money.
Heh. I never had Lib pegged as a reality television fan–the things you learn about people, huh?
Anyway, back on topic. I think Donell got his ass kicked by Abe because he’s too used to beating up girls. I loved how, as soon as Abe left, he got tough all of a sudden. Yep, he’s a real man, all right.
There’s something vaguely comforting in the fact that someone as intelligent and well-learned as Libertarian can still get emotional over a television show. It’s also a little disconcerting - but not as much as someone intentionally rearranging your CDs out of correct alphabetical order.
I detest Donell. He infects me with rage and I need to go all 28 Days Later on his pitiful ass. He engineered the fight by constantly picking at and teasing Abe; I wanted to smack the smirk off his face.
Rob’s career in the Marine Corps is far from exemplary. Stupid fuck seems only to scratch the surface.
Wow. In that case, I’m glad Paige was spared. I just hope she’s okay. As for Donell, I’m going to have a hard time watching the rest of the season without mumbling curses at the screen each time his smirky mug defaces it. May Abe’s replacement be from the seed of Donell’s most terrifying dread — maybe a hardcore tough-as-nails redneck bitch who will whip his “fat ass” yet again.
I only have seen one episode of of Road Rules and it happened to be the one where Donnel goads Abe inot violence. To be honest, both of them seem to be entirely unlikeable unsufferable pricks.
Nah, my blood doesn’t really boil. And I don’t really get angry. Just very disappointed. Donell was a jackass from the get-go. True, Abe had a sort of class-A personality type, but Donell’s prejudice against him seemed all the more petty because of the way Abe helped the team in spite of the rudeness he faced. Abe was a bit crazy, but Donnel is just plain mean.
I like most (but not all) of the reality shows. To borrow from a favorite movie of mine: “it has a tawdry escapist quality that soothes my nerves.”
Your kitten is beautiful, by the way. I am likely actually going to hear my wife’s “Awwwww, look Honey!”. (She’s a low-talker.)
I’m gonna chime in on my amazement that Lib watches Road Rules.
Also, I agree that if anyone should have been pulled, it should have been Donell. Watching him in the aftermath, with his disgusting little fan club of Cara and Mary Beth, was enough to make me ill. I’ve watched both Real World and Road Rules for a long time, and every single episode angers me to some degree, though I can’t stop watching.
Donell? Shut up. I think that Abe’s “cornbread” comment was no more offensive than your constant “country boy from Montana” shit.
That dastardly wrinkled fellow. (Hmm, just looked up dastardly for the splling, and it said coward and malicious. VN is malicious, but definitely not a coward.)
I’m sorry, I wish I could contribute to the original OP half this much, but I don’t have cable.
And the thing is . . . I’m not even sure that Abe IS a bigot. He really liked that one girl (I know no one’s names except Abe, Donell and . . . Dex?); he just has freaky beliefs about what is “natural” behavior and what isn’t. And he was going to be fine dancing in the gay club. Sure, he wasn’t comfortable doing it, but he was sucking it up and doing it, which, in my opinion, is even more admirable. I just don’t see him as a bigot, as much as a naive kid from a sheltered background, which are the best types for these kinds of shows because their eyes and minds can become open to things and usually helps them with acceptance.
And Donell called Abe a bigot over and over again, which, to most people is just as offensive as racial slurs are. And when Abe tried to walk away, Donell kept taunting him. It drove me nuts that Dex (?) didn’t tell the others exactly what went down.
AND, in the end, Abe expressed sincere sorrow for–as he put it–letting Donell “defeat him” into making the cornbread comment. That shows self-reflection and an ability for growth. Did Donell–even once–express any regret for anything he did? No. That shows assholery and bitchiness.
Oh, and Donell’s “fan club”? I seem to remember them–just last week–complaining that hel is a “whining little bitch.” But they’re stuck with him, which is revenge enough to me. Losers.
