I had to make a payment on my new Jeep today. It is rather depressing making a payment on a vehicle I can’t drive because some idiot rear ended me and it’s sitting in the shop. Brand spanking new! My insurance company doesn’t consider it totaled. I am really torn about that. Frankly, I believe that once the frame has been bent or tweaked it’s never the same. Additionally, it lost a lot of potential trade in value because it’s been in a wreck. The insurance appraiser and the auto repair shop swear it’s not as bad as I think it is, but I just have a hard time believing it. Tomorrow it’ll be up on the rack so I can see for myself the damage underneath.
I also have another big fight on my hands with the insurance company and the towing company because somehow my front end got damaged either in the towing yard, the insurance yard, or while it was being pulled up on the flatbed tow truck. I think the damage occurred in the tow yard, or while being towed to the insurance yard because that damage was NOT there when I went to collect my belongings. I am so very pissed because my insurance doesn’t want to pay for it. I will be calling their asses again tomorrow. Grr.
One more work day.

When a guy backed into the Buick when I took a cow-orker to the bank, he and I had the same insurance company, and I didn’t have to pay anything.
Some odd happenings near a friend’s home…a bit of a standoff between the police and a neighbor. Sounds like they made a poor choice of weapons, though.

I forgot to turn off my 'puter last night - shame on me. But it made starting up this morning that much quicker. 
We dropped the car off last night for its maintenance today. The oil change will be a freebie (buy 5, get the 6th free) and if they charge us for giving it a once-over, it won’t be too much. However, it’s at nearly 70K miles and **FCD **thinks the brakes are in need of service - that could cost a few $$. But it’s not the kind of thing you want to ignore, especially just before driving 800 miles south.
When we get back from the gym, I’m going to wash the truck. Supposedly, it’s white, but it looks more like a dalmatian at the moment. I just hope the crud spots aren’t baked into the finish.
My other chore today is to make a tote bag that will fit into a hard saddle bag of a Harley. My sweetie will paint something on it, then donate it to the chapter as a door prize, in the hopes that it will spur some business. We shall see.

Back from the gym and from picking up our car. We don’t need brakes yet - they said we’ve got another 15-20K miles on the pads yet, so yay! I love our car guys - they don’t try to screw us over. Then again, they know we’re consistent customers and we don’t get all pissy with them. Yay for good car guys.
I’m going to make a couple of tote bags for **FCD **to paint. He’s almost finished with a t-shirt for me - I’ll model it when it’s done. He’s pretty much figured out painting on fabric, practicing on a dedicated t-shirt that’s looking pretty weird right now - it’s got a Corvette, a rose, a skull, and something else I can’t remember - I bet if he adds a few more weird things, he could sell it!
OK, off to sew with me.

OnStar added my mothers new car to my account. They didn’t ask me, they didn’t have my approval and when her free trial expires they would be charging my debit card to continue it for her.
Their thing is I CANNOT remover her from my account, she has to call in and set up her own account. I call bullshit, and I just got nasty with them and they removed her car. Why is it MY responsibility to carry her until she calls in??? Where in the hell did they ever get the idea it was okay to add her in the first place???
Maybe I am just being a bitch but it’s my account and it I don’t want her on it then why does SHE get to decide when and how she will be removed???
It was their screw up not mine, why should I have to deal with it???

Deep, cleansing breaths, sari! My totally uneducated guess would be that they saw the same address and assumed… Yeah, weak, I know. But it’s the best I could come up with.
Taking a lunch break. I’m having turkey and provolone rolled up in a tortilla and nuked till the cheese got melty. Yum. I’m thinking I’ll be getting tortillas in place of bread - it makes for tidy little sammiches and wraps. I may even try to make fish or shrimp tacos.
Dunno if I mentioned (not like any of you besides **BBBobbio **has any idea about the restaurant) but a restaurant in Leonardtown is changing again. About 15 years ago, it was a Perkins, and we used to go there a lot. Then that closed down - I heard tales of issues with the franchise owners. It sat empty for a while, then eventually became a pizza place. It was mediocre and over-priced as far as I was concerned, and apparently others, too, because it then became “Rustic River”. The food was OK, but the prices were a bit much for what they served, and it eventually tanked.
Next, it was a Japanese restaurant - we went there several times. The first two times were outstanding, the next was so-so, making us less inclined to go again. Then they put out a sign announcing that they’d also be serving Italian food. Interesting mix there. Then they closed. Now there a sign announcing a Vietnamese restaurant - the first in the county, I think. I’ve never had Vietnamese food, so we’ll probably try it, after it has a few weeks to hit its stride. I’m wondering, tho, if the building and/or site is hexed??? :eek:
I pulled a box of old vinyl albums out of a closet, only to discover that the left hand speakers on my stereo aren’t working. grrrrrrrr. It might be the wires - I’ll mess with that later.
OK, tortilla/sammich is done. Guess I should get back to the tote bags…

My irk friend who is officially retired as of yestiddy (the one I texted early in the mornin’ to wish a happy first day of retirement) is bein’ soireed (is too a word!) this evenin’ at a local restaurant. I shall attend. OYKW declined to attend with me which is understandable as he does not know her. Be kinda nice just to go hang out, have a couple drinks and a good meal with folks I actually want to be around.

Another sunny day drivin’ round wi horsy leaflets.
Going to go hang round in the park later and burn things. Should be fun, hopefully none of the newbies will burn themselves. Can’t decide if I should try and bake more goodies, or just bring flapjacks. The plan is to convince the noobs into thinking we’re a nice, busy, active society, thus hopefully actually becoming one. We’ve kinda got the nice down already, but cookies never hurt.
Mooom, what material are you using for the tote? I have one handbag that is a perfect fit for most saddlebags. I don’t use it for a purse so much as keep it around for riding.
I put up October’s bulletin board today and it like to wore me out. Boy, am I out of shape!:o
