Today has been a day from heck. Not truly awful, but I have definitely been graced with a visit from Phil The Prince of Insufficient Light. The trip to the south forty took longer than I wanted it to take. The system is actin’ screwy again. I have a pile of monthly reports I am slowly sloggin’ my way through. Firday will definitely be welcomed this week.
My newly retired friend texted me back to let me know her dawgs and her bird (a macaw) are all verklempt over mama bein’ home today.
I really want to fire my landlord. Every month, the accounting has been screwy, requiring phone calls and emails to sort out. Why should it be so hard for a multi-state property management company to know how much my rent should be at the beginning of the month?
I missed this the first time around. Is the pro a doctor or a songwriter (cause almost all country music is about misery)?

We decided Red Robin should make lunch. Then we went to talk to our finance guy at the credit union. My annuity made around 10% in its first year - woohoo!! FCD’s has lost a wee bit in the first 3 months, but he’s got a guaranteed return of 7%, so there’s that. Bottom line - we done good, thanks to following Dave’s suggestions. He knew we were conservative and mainly interested in a known income in our future. Yay for Dave!
The car goes to the shop tonight for an oil change and a general check before we head to Florida. Till then, chillage shall ensue.
I called safeway and got a credit for the missing groceries.
I talked to the doctor about why she wants me to go back to the oncologist and instead of an ablation she wants to yank everything out. I’m not happy with that option but I will see what the oncologist has to say.
I told her how tired I am and I’m still having trouble breathing. She called in a script for some iron pills for me, says I should try to take three a day but if they make me too sick to at least take one.
The bitchsters lawyer sent a letter but the letter is not what the title company wants so we are moving on to a different title company.
I can’t fix the OnStar issue, my mother has to fix it on her end. I don’t know why they can’t fix it for me, I didn’t tell them to put her car on my account, it’s their screw up and they need to fix it. As long as her OnStar is free it’s not an issue but if they debit my card for her car that is going to be an issue. I don’t know WTF they put her car on my account in the first place.
All are small irritations but irritations none the less. I’m get tired of fixing other peoples screw ups. I’m tired of other people dumping their drama in my lap. Quite frankly, once my lawyer told me they can’t get me out of the house, now I feel like letting it take 6 months to resolve so they won’t have any money left to fight over.
I need some N.O.L. even though it’s almost time for dinner.

Oh and I got my email today telling me my chairs were ready to be picked up. I picked them up last nightfte. Ar waiting for the email saying they were ready, I checked on my own and saw that they were. So Staples, your email system sucks.
BBBBobbio, I hope all went well at WHC - although I must confess to liking the “Mordor on the Potomac” appellation. Some of the staff there felt to me like they were Orcs! BTW, anyone who ever has their blood oxygen levels taken directly from the blood, well…if you’ve had it done, you’ll know what I mean by this: :eek: :mad: (:dubious: If there was a face for “it hurts really really bad” that’s actually the one you’d need!
The weather is so nice, just open up the windows and really good for sleeping at night! Albuquerque is so beautiful, New Mexico as a whole is really a beautiful state, and there is so much to see here. The climate and the people are different, in some cases way different, from the east coast; it just takes a few adjustments to get used to.
Did I share that we finally made that cheeseburger casserole? This is the one with the sheet of Pillsbury crescent roll dough on top, with mustard, catsup and pickles and cheese of course mixed in with the hamburg. It is very delicious! And it does really taste like an old fashioned cheeseburger. My next project is to try one of those dump cakes. LOL Yes, the dump cakes where you take a package of cake mix and dump that into the pan, then you just add a few things and it comes out delicious. I don’t know, Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond) has some good dump cake recipes, I think I’m going to try to make a pina colada (non-alcoholic) one, with flaked coconut and cream of coconut along with crushed pineapple. I might have to play around with the liquid amounts a bit. We’ll see. Naturally, I’ll let you know the final results, especially if they are good tasting!
Apparently, there’s loads of stuff that can be done with chestnuts- everything from cakes to stews to I don’t know what. I rarely seem to get round to doing much more than roasting 'em though. And I hardly ever do that- I still have dried ones left over from last year, in fact.
I’m on a bit of a mission to get better at cooking, especially with ingredients I can get free, so I plan to try a few more interesting recipes this year.
OYKW is swipin’ The General’s dindin tonight. He has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ and well, it beats whompin’ up vittles. Plus, I am also right fond of The General’s dindin.

The aggravating thing is that I know what to pay, our account / property manager knows what we owe, but their computers get all fuzzle-headed. I drove over to bring them a paper check (Yeah, remember those?) and if their system continues to keep getting it wrong, I may just have to burden them with checks each month.
Individually, they’re all nice people, but as a collective, they’re frustrating.
I got a gift of vegetables! 2 of my neighbors went to FreshFood Day at the Food Pantry and put my name in … Brought me about a dozen alvacados,a big bunch of Jalapinos,a bag of Zucciki,bake your own bread sticks,a sleeve of tomatoes… Now I gotta cook tomorrow…
morganstern, nobody owns a cat. We mere mortals are permitted to feed, clean up after and worry about the critters, but the still won’t come when you call their name.
Nobody is here, it is the perfect time to get everything together and move. The problem is OAOASO is irking long hours and has no time this weekend. I thought about just going and getting a truck and loading it up. My nieces bf/husband will help but OAOASO is free. Well not really free because he owes me some money and a few favors. So I wipe out his debt and I don’t have to put any money out.
I’m getting ready to fight with OnStar too because I don’t know why my mother has to call to be removed from my account. They never should have added to her to my account in the first place, their mistake, they need to fix it and I don’t want to hear any more excuses and bullshit.
I’m tired of other peoples problems becoming my problems, or other peoples mistakes falling on to me to fix them.
