Home from soireein’. 'Twas nice. We had horsedoovers, I had a gin and tonic (yes, just one), and everyone ordered and paid for their own meals. I had some really good ravioli in an excellent tomato cream sauce. Dessert was chawklit cheesecake (the honoree’s favorite) with strawberry sauce. A good time was had by all. Patricia got some good swag as well. She said if she ever gets her dawgs to get over the need to go out at five a.m. she’ll enjoy herself a lot more.
I have gone crazy and am crocheting myself a hat.
So will this be known henceforth as the crazy hat?
It just might be.
I had pan seared Cajun pork chops with smoked paprika rice, and tequila lime corn and tomatoes.
Spaz, you must post a pic of you wearing the Crazy Hat[sup]TM[/sup]
You should speak to your Physician AND Clergyman.
If you look up “enabler” in the dictionary, you will find a picture of dogbutler.
Doggio one day, when you least expect it, I’m going to be standing on your doorstep with knife and fork in hand and a napkin tucked under my chin.
I had a frozen burrito for dinner.
So far the iron pills are not tearing up my tummy.
The HFH came by to feed the bird (about time) and to move my mothers bfs car. The guys are coming tomorrow to put up the thingie that goes over top the cars.
Another 20 minutes of irk and I am done for the night. I’m sleepy.
Lucky you on the iron, sari. The dosage I’m on has me trying to poop rebar.
You say that like it’s a bad thing.:dubious:
Give me 30 minutes notice, so I can make extra.
Are you bringing a side of fava beans & a nice chianti?
Somebody check on Ruble. The Packers are beating the Viqueens like a rented mule.
Spidey, I can do Italian, if that’s what she wants.
If I can just get through Friday I’m going to have a great weekend.
I do have to clean house, but two good/fun things will be happening.
Saturday is the annual Greek Food Festival at St’s Peter and Paul Orthodox Church. I always pig out, buying two meals. One to eat there, one for the evening. My rumbly tummy will be well fed with dolmades, keftedes(sp?) hummus and pita, Greek salad, baklava, spanakopita, and suchlike. Envy me.
Then Sunday afternoon there is the annual Blessing of the Animals at Gage Park. I always take one of my pets. Dogs predominate, but there’s always a few cats and other types. I’ve seen rabbits, horses, parrots, ferrets, snakes, monkeys, and once, a beaver. Several local clergy preside over a short service, with a couple hymns and Scriptural readings referring to creation and animals. Then the animals each get an individual blessing and a St. Francis medal.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 87 for the day and an afternoon/evenin’ of rain/tstorms/apocalypse accordin’ to the weather PTB. We shall see. They have not been especially good with the predictions as of late.
DeathMistress some Greek food I like a lot. It does seem to rely a lot on lamb of which I am not fond. However, I can and have been known to try to, eat my weight in baklava. St. Pat’s is havin’ a blessin’ of the animals Sunday afternoon. JDD always took JoeDawg for what we called his annual exorcism. JoeDawg (may he rest in peace) was a chee-hoo-ah-hoo-ah and thus, by nature, psycho.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. At least 'tis Firday.
Happy Firday Y’all!
ENVY
Up, caffeinated off to work in the Hood. Hockey afterwards.
I always like the Greek Festat the Fairgrounds. And I have the “One Ouzo, Two Ouzo, 3 Ouzo, Floor” shirt to prove it.
Blurf.
I must work at the orifice today, to make up time for Wednesday’s trip to the quack. Oh, the horror!
**Spaz **- last night, I finished making a brain hat, and if it hadn’t been so late, I’d have started another. But for the next one, I’ll sew on the “brain” parts while having the hat on a wig stand. With luck, it’ll be less aggravating than trying to do it with a cat on my lap!
Good morning! I finished “C is for Corpse” in my quest to reread all the Kinsey Millhone books. I’d like to take one when I go to the gym, but I can’t read when on the treadmill or the bike. I tried - it’s too difficult to keep my eyes focused. So it’s become my before-bed routine.
**FCD **has to monitor a crabber today, and I get the next 2 days. He’s going on a bike ride tomorrow, and there’s the chapter picnic on Sunday - I’ll head to the picnic after I finish my monitorin’ duties, assuming they don’t run all afternoon.
I never did wash the truck yesterday - maybe I can get it done today, altho they’re promising rain tonight - that will guarantee it, right?
Onlly 4 weeks till Halloween! Happy Firday!!
Happy Firday!
My computer hates me today. My psots keep disappearing and my cursor is hopping all over the place.
It’s a cool sunny breezy 59 degrees with a projected high of 72.
A nice day to get things done, not too hot.
I’m giving in and buying a new clock radio this weekend. My venerable Radio Shack dual alarm has become too unreliable. I suppose getting almost 25 years of use is a good run, but Radio Shack no longer makes clock radios and I have yet to see something I like.
