From the video title, I thought: wow, the bear picked up a window and threw it at the zoo, breaking the rock!..?
If bears are godless killing machines, then polar bears are the godlessest, killingest machines. I realize they live in frozen tundra, but there’s something scary about an animal that chooses to be stark white instead of RealTree camouflage or something.
Tosh, he just drops it. At 00.12 the polar bear picks up a rock then drops it. No attempt to throw. Then later he picks up the same rock but drops it again, from higher up and close to the glass. The rock is oblong and as it tumbles it happens to hit and crack the glass.
This naïveté is why you’ll be first to fall in the polar bear revolution. Just sayin.

The think that kills me about this is that the cameraman is still filming after it’s obvious what had happened. That tank could shatter at any moment, and this moron’s still thinking, “Hot damn, I can put this on Youtube!”

Btw, this is at Blijdorp in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and the first thing the guy says after it happens is ‘Jezus, let’s get out of here’ in a very posh accent; we are a leftist lot, us polar bears.
Is this zoo near a quarry?
I’m a little surprised the glass broke. I’d have to think that the polar bear had collided with it harder than that rock hit at some point.
I guess maybe there was a sharp edge that caught it just right or something, though.
