Yeah I know about the headlight. It went out the day before. Sucks.
I hate hate hate hate hate backing that thing up. Especially into a street! It has ZERO visibility to the back. If you stood behind the van with your face in the window, I might be able to see it if there was enough light. Other than that, it’s totally blind. I’m just glad I didn’t cream anyone on the way out. Heh.
Passing… well I was out to prove a point. Vans can go vroom when they need to! Heh. Ok ok so I just did it because it was fun You caught me. Happy?
How much is the ransom? And where do you live? Small bills ok?
How much, well I would take the little boy, but all I’ve got is a PS1 so I don’t think I could keep him occupied for long. Then I also realised that kids cost money in upkeep, I was only gonna use him to get better presents out of my parents and wasn’t thinking. So yes small bills are ok, as many as you can fit into a bag of candy. If that doesn’t work you could always sneek into JCs house and get his copy of Dragon’s Lair for me. I need something to do and that looks perfect for the next couple of years.
Any of the above, except the boy, can either be dropped off at my house in Germantown or at work in Silver Spring, which ever is more convenient.
Oh and we thought we had a stalker since you followed us for so long. So don’t freak me out like that any more ok?
We had a truly wonderful time. Jonathan and Mrs. Chance are terrific people, gracious hosts, and Katie is a sweetie.
It was a pleasure to finally meet OpalCat in person (as well as Dominic, who charmed my wife – here’s information for him on milkweedbugs.)
I had a chance to see several longstanding friends and a number of new ones, and I enjoyed it immensely.
When we left, there was food left!
I may start a rant about the trip home, however, which culminated in my billfold being snatched at a N.C. rest area 28 miles from our house at about 2:00 AM.
I had a wonderful time at the party this weekend. This is the first time I’ve gotten 'punha away from the computer long enough for me to log in so I could post in this thread again.
I really enjoyed finally meeting some dopers and hopefully I won’t have to wait another year to do it again.
Jonathan Chance you and your wife were excellent hosts and your house was lovely. Your daughter was absolutly precious too.
Oh, and you gotta tell me where you got that root beer. Next time Paddy comes down to see me I want him to hook me up with a case. That was some good shiznit.
I’m pretty certain they ship. And they’ve just started making a killer ginger ale, too.
To everyone who’s praised us, thank you. We had a great time meeting everyone and enjoyed having you. The house is now mostly cleaned up. All that’s left is for the maids…heh heh heh…
Here’s a question for everyone…
Why is it that at every one of these parties I end up sitting on the floor in the kitchen, back to the dishwasher, with a glass in my left hand and a bottle of plum wine in the other?
Old Dominion does, in fact, ship. I wish I didn’t know that, at least not until I go back to work full-time. (It’s almost eighteen bucks a twelve-pack, with shipping.)
That Ginger Ale was something else. I had two. I wanted many, many more, but I’m nice. I wanted the poor Chances to have something to drink in the morning, to go along with their strange American candy.
Well I guess you could come shine lights in my windows but I’ve got this damn street light outside my window. I’ve got a sheet up in the window so I can sleep. I guess if you take out the light I’ll let you shine your lights in my window, at least might get some sleep then.
Oh yeah, I read your live journal and I saw that guy flirting with you. Geez you’d have thought he’d of had some brains knowing you were married and all and there he was just flirting away with you all night.
Well if he reads the board, he probably knows that I have an open marriage, but I’m pretty sure he’s got an SO. Plus I’m fat and ugly, so I’m pretty sure it was wishful thinking on my part. Maybe someone will flirt with me at next year’s party when I’m thin again.
