Dope Global Domination Game [free browser-based strategy game]

I’m with you both that we should all use one system - it’ll make stuff much easier than the built-in mail/message system. Since we’re organizing the game here, it makes sense to use the PM system here.

The map at the end of Turn 42 (click me)

Mosier is Brazil: Southeast ██████
Rubberneck is United Kingdom ██████
Alexio711 is Sweden ██████
AClockworkMelon is South Korea ██████

The meatgrinder keeps churning. Korean forces ambush British enemies in the Arabian Peninsula by way of the Persian Gulf and takes Poland in central Europe. The United Kingdom captures Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Sweden pulls back its remaining forces in Europe to defend the capital. South American forces prevail against a massive Swedish invasion army.

One footnote at the end of the article is all that was deserved by the mighty nation of Brazil crushing yet another nation’s invasion force? OMG the news is SOOOOO biased.

I talked things over with a few people, listing the pros and cons of all the different methods for communication. The limited PM box space and inability to organize and edit threads here were the main items in the cons column.

A lightweight forum to serve as the dedicated communication tool between nations has been set up: armchairgenerals.icyboards.net

It’s not a splinter board or anything of the sort, just a dedicated mail box and bulletin board to be used during games. A nifty feature is the ability to award collectible achievements for game actions (see here for details).

When we’re ready to start the next game I’ll start a new thread and send PMs to everyone on the current notification list (as mentioned a couple posts back). In the meantime if you’re still interested and willing please sign up to the communication board using the same username as you’re using (or planning on using) on atWar so there’s no confusion.

Thanks and good luck!

I’ll set up the account tomorrow

ENDGAME (click me)

Very good game guys. I feel like that was an excellent test game and now that we’re moving on with a larger group (and correct settings from the start this time) the next game will be even better.

We haven’t decided on a start date for the next game yet, but I imagine it’ll be something like Saturday the 23rd, just to give everyone time to make an account on the board we’ve set up for game communication. I’ll have decided on something concrete by later tonight or tomorrow and when I have I’ll make another thread in this forum (I won’t be making a new thread here for each game - now that we have a board dedicated to country communication I’ll just use the new thread as a nice clean slate to announce when new games are beginning so we can continue to recruit more players without them having to dig through all the posts in this one). At that time I’ll send everyone a PM letting them know about it. Game links and passwords will be sent via private message at the Armchair Generals communication board, just so that singing up there can act as a kind of confirmation. There’ll be details in the new thread.

Thanks for following along!

It was a very fun game! The wars went a bit unexpectedly at times, players made some surprising tactical decisions, and I think we were all kept on our toes for most of the game. Congratulations to our new South Korean overlords!

Registered on the forum (account CaleKnight) and am waiting on activation.

I’ve made the new SDMB thread here. Since new game threads, inter-country communication, and map updates will be happening on the Armchair Generals board the new SDMB thread will be dedicated solely to new game (and perhaps player elimination/winner) announcements and recruitment. This way new players don’t have to dig through this entire thread to find out what’s up.

The new game thread over at Armchair Generals can be found here.

Thanks for reading along!
