Most News Agents sell “Say G’day” cards. A Telstrashop would probably also have them.
They have two numbers, a 1800 number and a 1300 number. I would strongly suggest you put the 40c in change into the phone and use the 1300 number. It triples your calling time (well, to the States at least, don’t know about NZ). A $10 will give you about 3 hours (or just under) of talk time to the States (using 1300 number).
Once you finish talking to whoever it is you speak to first, just stay on the line (let them hang up) and it will tell you how much money you have left and give you the chance to dial another number.
In Australia, the code for International calls is 0011, so when you dial the number for Quasi (as an example), use: 0011 1 (his area code) (his phone number). 1 is the US’s (and Canada’s I think) country code. Australia’s is 61, in case you’re interested hehe. I don’t know the code for NZ sorry, but it could easily be googled.
