I am SOOOO excited. I just got back from meeting my new group of kids! WOW! They are so great! I’m already in love!

Okay, as promised, here is a listing of their first names along with what types of books or interests each one has. Some of them were a little shy so I might have to get to know them a little better to get more info out of them. Two students were absent today so next to their names are blank since I haven’t spoken to them yet…

Joshua–anything about football. Favorite player is Randy Moss

Montrel–anything involving sports

Anthony–soccer, and Clifford the Big Red Dog books

Anton–Basketball, any sports, loves the 76ers

Ashley–Goosebumps books, loves Michael Jordan, plays basketball herself

Kaiyil–likes flowers, any kind of books with flowers

Alicia–likes ballet and cheerleading books

Dominique–likes American Girls books, Barbie and horses

Brandy–Likes basketball, mysteries and books about how things work

Sarah–likes ballerinas, joke books, American Girls, Barbie and Nate the Great books

Marquet–Likes fiction books, basketball and football

Philander–likes any kind of books, likes the boxer M. Ali

Levarr–Likes motorbikes and spider books

Kenya–likes Goosebumps and animals, especially horses

Brionna–basketball and animals

Floyd–likes football, also a Randy Moss and the Vikings fan

Crystal–basketball, favorite team is the Lakers

Robert T.–likes the Atlanta Falcons and football

Robert N.–likes soccer and books about presidents

Shekinah–likes basketball, favorite team is the Lakers, likes Shaq

Tiatiuna–likes ballet

Latisha–likes Nate the Great books or mysteries

Monique–was absent

Brianna–was absent

Okay, so now that I know my kids and some of their interests…let’s get this up and running! I’m pumped! :smiley:

If you are reading this thread and have no idea what we are doing or would like to be a Book Fairy, let me know and I’ll gladly send you the info.

Someone had the idea about including a postcard or some interesting facts about your state/country so the kids can use some geography skills and figure out which state/country you are in. I talked to my class teacher about this and she LOVED the idea.

Can you divvy up the Goosebumps books I’ve already sent as the monthly book fairy donation for Ashley, or are you looking to have different things sent each month? It honestly makes no difference to me how you decide to use the books – you could put them in the book bin as prizes or donate them to the library and that would be fine, too. But if having each child have a “book fairy” is the most important priority, I’ll leave that up to you to make the call on how to distribute the ones I’ve sent.

Okay…here’s what I have so far…and please tell me if I’ve got it wrong. I don’t want to sign anyone up for this if that was not your intention. A one-time book contribution is super if you can’t afford or commit the time to do this once a month. I completely understand.

Now, if you guys want to send one package and me dole out the books each month to save shipping that totally works. If you want to send something each month, that is fine too. Whatever fits your time schedule and budgets…I’ll work around it.

The kids are in 4th grade for those who asked about ages…but remember…most of these kids aren’t reading on a 4th grade level so we don’t want the books to be too hard.

For those who asked if they could send along some little trinket or something…sure…but we don’t want one kid to be getting a bucket load of stuff and the others to feel left out. Just be sensitive to that. I will do my best to have extra stuff each week just in case myself.

I think this will work better if the books are sent directly to me. I’ll then take them out with me to the school. If you don’t have my address then email me at Aries28kp@hotmail.com and I’ll send it to you.

dbygawdcapn there are no twins. The child’s name is Philander. Maybe I’ve been whooshed by your post or maybe you are being serious? Color me confused.

There are still several kids left who need Fairies so if you are so inclined, just post here or drop me a note at my hotmail account.

I’ll check back first thing in the morning and tally up who has which child and answer any more questions.

I am so excited I probably won’t sleep a wink tonight!
