The Diplomacy Worldmasters 2002 tournament is taking registrations through November 25, 2002.
I have already signed up a team of Cat23 veterans as ‘Wooley’s Mammoths’ Boo-YA!
But if you’re interested I think you can probably get enough SDMB folks together to get a team together. You can battle those nasty Germans and Brazilians. Or even those dreaded Japanese.
So who’s got the cojones for it? Who knows? You might face my team in the first round.
Wouldn’t that be fun?
I am feeling extremely dumb, because, regardless of whether France builds or not, I should have a build this winter, dammit!

Dave, I’d like to play, if you feel I’ve got enough experience. I imagine this’d be something you’d want to avoid involving newbies in, and I’m sure I still fall under that banner. If you’re willing to set it up and captain the team and stuff, I’m in if you’ll have me.
Cool, Nate can you set me up so I can upload these files when I’m ready to that folder Dave had already used for the initial, or whatever folder you want?

Bear in mind, one of you guys is going to have to set it up. I have my own Cat23 team to manage and I don’t think it’s kosher that I’m part of two teams in the tournament.
Though maybe some of you will end up in a game I GM. Wouldn’t that be nice?
I just want you to know that I dreamed about Dip last night. In fact, everything in my dream involved Diplomacy and then submitting orders. It was very stressful. Sort of like my wife would tell me, “Sorry, but your move to do the laundry bounced, and your move to go out to see Monday Night Football at the pub was cut by my move to have you read to the kids…”

In other news, we have an EOG proposal on the table in Dip 1040 to declare Austria the winner. Votes are due at 9pm EDT; results will be announced then, or earlier if the vote is conclusive before then. If the remaining players vote unanimously (6-0) for an Austrian win, the game ends tonight; otherwise, moves will be due in the morning. So keep Dipping.
C’mon, Shibb, you should know by now to have an ally support you into the pub. You know your kids are at home and don’t need to be contained by your wife. She could therefore focus on you. Always support, dude.
