Yes, but like you said, neither Gas nor Spa were threatened.
What does that accomplish?

Maybe it was just military exercises. You’ve got to keep those armies moving around, or the locals start drafting constitutions that involve outlawing quartering troops in people’s houses without the owner’s consent. Believe me, I’m England, I know.
It shows you’re a wild and crazy guy. It also keps the aliens out. I’ve see many a Dip game fall to the Greys. Damn big-eyed bastards.
I had no intention of making a move against France. First and foremost, we had a gentlemanly agreement, which my dear colleague seems to have forgotten about (Dude, you broke our treaty!). And there was also the secondary matter of securing my eastern front before picking any fights in the west.
France - you look like you’re in a bit of trouble. I’d worry about my home supply centres before attempting to grab any of mine.
I must also warn you all that Russia’s plan is cunning beyond belief. By pretending to be scattered and broken, he is actually lulling you into a false sense of security before he launches a devastating and overpowering attack…I get to keep the scraps.
Don’t forget tonight’s deadline.
Fall 1902 due at 8pm PST/10pm CST/11pm EST.
Be there or be… late.
Deadline 30 minutes behind us. I’m missing one set of orders; the player in question has been notified.
I’m ready to go as soon as I get that last set.
Adjudication will have to wait till tomorrow morning, assuming the missing set comes in.
If you guys want to take an extra day or two for the turns just let me know. I may be insisting on a quick schedule prematurely.
This schedule is tight, but acceptible, as far as I’m concerned.
I say NMR the bastard! (since I know it’s not me)
I wouldn’t be opposed to making the schedule longer. At the very minimum, the person should put in for a delay if they’re going to miss the deadline.
I was so hoping my move would work. It would have been funny as hell.
(For those who don’t get the adjucations, I ordered A Belgium Supports A Paris - Picardy and asked Germany to A Burgundy - Paris, in the hopes that France would do the two-defends-three thing with Picardy.)
thats eeeeeevil…
I should have realized that Nate would be that shrewd.
Damn it! “wouldn’t be”, “wouldn’t be”…I can’t even tease someone right these days.
Winter’s out. Target date for S03 is Tuesday, March 11th, 8pm PST. If anyone wants to extend the date for any reason let me know.
Oops. My clocks are fast. Hope I didn’t ruin anybody’s last minute finagling. I forgot I was just going to set it up so I’d be quick on the trigger at 8. It wasn’t a very controversial season anyway.
Webpage is back up to speed.
I propose the following schedule for future turns:
Spring due Monday.
Fall due Thursday.
Winter due Friday.
This gives an even distribution of days for pre-move diplomacy periods (Sat-Sun-Mon for Spring, Tue-Wed-Thur for Fall), plus one day for builds.
What do you all think?
T.J. Black
I think that the fall turn should be longer than the spring one, since it’s the one that makes the biggest difference. And I think that all turns should be a bit longer for another year or so.
I’m also happy with an extended and more forgiving schedule. My real-world efforts to rule the world seem to be getting in the way of my (admittedly less successful) attempts here…
Friday Winter and Monday Spring isn’t ideal because some people don’t have as much internet access on weekends (ie. at home) as on weekdays (ie. at work). Also people tend to have plans and such over the weekend and aren’t always as available to Dip. Personally I favor T/Th/F, but if y’all decide otherwise that’s fine. We could also trash the year-a-week plan and just go by ear.
For those not in the loop or not reading emails, there’s been an extension granted for the current season.
Spring 1903 due THIS FRIDAY, March 14th, 8pm PST/10pm CST/11pm EST.
Any questions let me know.
Huh. I read the e-mails and I just assumed you’d delayed it to today. That makes a difference. I guess I just skimmed.
I’m going to be in Florida from Tuesday of next week until the later part of the week, and I don’t know if I’ll have net access. Depending on how this turn goes, I might or might not need an extension.
maybe any turn a week schedule is too ambitious. Playing by ear may be the best bet.
