Doper Libarians: Who's going to Anaheim?

With the annual conference fast approaching, I’m wondering if any other Doper Librarians are making the trip to Anaheim for the annual March of the Librarians?
My schedule’s already filling up, but I think it’d be great to meet some Doperbrarians!

I’m going to bump this once, and if I still get no responses then I’ll accept that I’m not cool enough for the other doper librarians.

I think I know one who is (not sure). I’ll direct her to this thread. I saw it last night, but didn’t see her on to point it out to her.

It’s Liberryians.

IANAL, but I am a filthy vendor who will be attending.

Oooh, a filthy vendor. I’ve dealt with pushy and nice, but never filthy.

Not I. I’ve only been to one ALA (Orlando) and while I enjoyed it I wouldn’t say it was really worth it, for what I got out of it. I try to hit the Charleston Conference every year, though - that one’s amazing. If I ever move on up in the job I have, I might find ALA more useful, or maybe PLA. I mean, it’s not like I have a network to network.

ETA - and if anybody IS going to the Charleston Conference, let me know so I can pretend to network with somebody. I mean other than that time I went all drunk fangirl on Walt Crawford.

Ooh, ooh, that’s me. I registered in the hopes of furthering my job search (I only just finished up my MS a couple of months ago), and even if I get a job before the conference, I’ll still go. (I may be getting this elementary school librarian job, I’m not really qualified for it, but neither is anyone else who has applied, so if the number of hoops they want me to jump through is minimal, maybe it’ll work out.)

Ok, you should start hanging out (virtually, that is) with some of the Library Society of the World - actually, any of you librarian types should.

Partly because you get over the fangirl thing pretty quickly when you’ve virtually met some of your favorite library people, and from that group, met others in person (though I sounded a little like a babbling idiot when I met Karen Schneider at Internet Librarian last fall).

Plus? We’re a fun group and there are usually some at almost any conference - good for the networking. And maybe if you’re lucky you’ll eventually find out my other online name that I’ve resisted changing my name to here.

ETA: Basandre, PM or email me - I’ll be there Thursday night through Tuesday night (a coworker and I are driving in).

ETA(again): I’m stuck going to both Annual and Midwinter the next few years - I’m chairing a committee next year, and expect other committees to come (I’m tenure track, so have to be involved).

Yeah, that’s you. And why are you online here, but not there? I cannot IM with you here!
