What do you guys (NC & surrounding areas Dopers) think about trying to get together sometime in May, say around the Charlotte area?
fuzzy-wuzzy and I have been discussing it and it seems feasible, at least on our ends. When we first started trying to figure out who all the Dopers in reasonable proximity were, we only came up with about 5 or 6. However, upon closer inspection, I think there may be more than that.
I, for one, am not in North Carolina but I am only three and a half hours from Charlotte and fuzzy lives within a reasonable distance as well. I know that TennHippie, wherever he may be now, lives a couple hours farther away than me but he is invited as well if he happens to read this.
So, what do you guys think? How many of you are ready, willing and able to get to Charlotte sometime for a raucous evening of fun?
Basically just moving this to the top but also issuing a warning for those who have not responded!
It looks like the SDMB is going to hell in a handbasket (what with the whole psycho poster thing, the LBMB invasion, Opal’s site being taken down, kellie’s underage poster thing, etc.) By the time we meet we may be the “artists-formerly-known-as-Dopers”!!

I’m here Beth. The only time that I could not make it is from the first of April until the middle of May…for work reasons. We can move the time around…but because of the weather we thought maybe May would be a good starting place for a time. Any of you guys in NC and surrounding states that are interested we can work around times. We just wanted to get something started…and Beth did a great job.
Cool ! NC Dopers unite ! I am still pretty new here, but I am in Greensboro and would be interested in possibly sewing some wild (yet intelligent) oats. You know . . . provided the next ice age is not totally here by May. Looking out the window, I think we are running out of time. 5 storms in 2 weeks - Enough !

Satan and I have plans to be in and around the Charlotte area on the weekend of March 17th. We were thinking about suggesting an NC meeting sometime around then, too. If you’re willing to do it a little early, that would be excellent.

What, you mean why I’ll be in Charlotte? No, there’s a Hornets-Knicks game that weekend, and I wanted to visit my aunt, who lives in Rock Hill (and is an on again off again Doper as well). Hell, I might even bring her along.
March 17-18th works for me, I don’t know about anyone else. Actually, I have the entire week prior to that off from work. It’s Spring Break but I don’t have any plans.

I’m a very new doper, but I work in Charlotte, and I’d love to meet some of you folks. Just please don’t ask me anything about where to have it in Charlotte, cause I’ve only been here about a year, transplanted from Virginia. But I’d be glad to help in any way I can.
Sounds like you got it pulling together Beth. I can’t make the March meeting…but that’s ok I’ll make the next one. Anything that is planned after May will work for me so I’ll step out of this one and let you guys pull it together and we’ll try to pull another one together afterwards.
