Macrobid is on “the list” of “pretty safe” drugs to take while nursing, Dr. Hale rates it an “L2”, which is the second safest rating (hardly anything qualifies in the safest catagory).
If you’re not nursing exclusively because of your personal choice, that’s fine. But if it’s on more advice from your ped, he’s very likely full of more crap. If you post the advice, I’ll ask the wife to give you the straight dope.
Geeze, inkleberry. I read this whole thread thinking you were the father. I have to say that line came as something of a shock to me! I’m so glad you and baby are back home, and I hope things continue to get better
Glad to hear it all came out okay. It just occurred to me that your baby’s name should be Tinkleberry, inkleberry. And I thought you were the father, too.
Tomorrow (Thursday) we are going to the endocrinologist for the metabolic results. Then we only have the VCUG (kidney/bladder reflux test) and MRIs to go. The MRI is to check his basal ganglia and hypothalamus. So many doctors!
We almost went back to the hospital on Monday. He was peeing through a LOT of diapers and eating a lot, and we thought his kidney problems might be back. But he’s been peeing less the past few days, so maybe it was just a one-off.
He’s off the antibiotics…for now. He’s eating like a horse, but it is in the realm of appropriate eating.
