Threads are always being posted by Dopers who are moving to a new town, or visiting other cities, or looking for a place to take a vacation. So…here’s a photo thread that shows not our glorious Doper countenances, but rather our lovely (or not so) towns and scenes nearby.
Here’s my starter album of the place I call home. Please add yours.
Chefguy, maybe it’s just me but I can’t see your pics. I don’t have any pics of my current town, but I might try and post some pics of places I’ve lived until I can get some.
Good section on the Goose Fair, one of Europe’s largest travelling fairs, which has been going for over 700 years now. You can even go on virtual rides.
The panorama section is well worth checking out.
I live just around the corner from Wollaton Park. If I were to go and take a ten minute walk up the road, then I’d be able to pop into Wollaton Hall
Here’s my San Francisco gallery. All pictures were taken by me, unless otherwise noted. (They’re all also hosted by me, so please forgive the load times.)
What strikes me about your pictures, Troy McClure SF, is that apart from a few high-rise monstrosities, most of it looks just like a panoramic picture of a random southern European city!? That strikes me as strange, because I didn’t imagine any American city capable of such subterfuge…or maybe I’m underestimating something or other…
Well, I can’t claim credit for taking any of these photos, but I do live at the fringes of downtown Lafayette. As I recently mentioned in another thread, the Art Museum is the polling place where I’ll be headed to cast my ballot on November 2.
I don’t live in Dayton, but rather in the 'burbs… but that’s not photo-worthy.
So here are four of my own panoramic pictures of Dayton: One, Two, Three, and Four.
For a whole bunch of Dayton pictures that are not mine, I direct you here.
During most of the school year (including now), I am in Delaware, Ohio, of which I have a whole bunch of pictures here.
