Thanks to both of you! 
These Dopers have a better-than-even chance of being in the Over-49 age group, but I haven’t been able to pin them down to a specific year yet. Adding them to the group where I did guess at a year brings the total of those accounted for to well over 400. And that’s at least double the largest number I’ve seen in the various anonymous polls that provide for a reasonable guess for the Over-49 crowd.
It’s easy to suspect, as PastTense pointed out, that the actual number is much larger.
But we may never know that real figure, it would appear. Thanks to all who have volunteered their details in one place or another. It’s been fun searchung for members of this club!
