Another doper I miss seeing is (and I’m going to bugger the spelling) Brachyrhinos, who I believe was a birding expert.

She was great. She even made it out to one of the Jersey Dopefests at my place. She never posted often, but when she did, it was always worth reading.

My problem is, I don’t realize someone’s gone until they’ve been gone a long long time. Then it’s difficult to find any posts explaining where they hied themselves off to, if they left one.

Based on the wiki article and some additional research, it seems that we have been conned. It appears that Abby Winters is a long established internet persona (from 1996 on usenet), probably Garion Hall, the CEO of the G Media, the owner of AbbyWinter.com.

Abby last posted in June this year, so “she” has not entirely disappeared from the SDMB.
