I just voted, and captcha fooled me. I couldn’t tell if the animal was a sheep or a goat, but with the skinny-ish face I thought it was a goat. At least they gave me a second chance, and they accepted ‘sheep’.

We will STILL have won in that we have called attention to the fact our 4-legged friends need us, just as bad as the bi-peds.
Think about it and take the dog and cat out of the equation for right now, and replace it with the cow and the horse, and the sheep, and the goat. etc.
WE domesticated them them to help US!
Just give it some thought, okay?

I know what you wrote about the Shi-Tzus, but it isn’t their faul either.
I don’t know about the particular breeds, but I will tell you THIS:
My shelter is a "Kill " shelter.
Sounds “harsh” don’t it?
Well, it is harsh, Godammit.
Not one of the volunteers or staff want to see these little ones die, and can you just IMAGINE what happens every friggin’ Wednesday???
It’s “Euthanasia Day” on Wednesday.
We all die right along with those little ones, because we cannot get them all adopted, and how many of those we do save do you think come right back through our door, just days (maybe hours) later???
I know every one of the shelter staff/humane society people, personally and there isn’t one of them who doesn’t feel sadness or cries when those poor little guys get their “Last Meal” and are licking at their last “adopted” Human’s fingers, because they don’t UNDERSTAND!
They DO NOT understand why they suddenly have to be behind a cage and their “human” is gone forever, but they do understand pain, hunger and neglect. And they understand “sleep”.
I think they do understand sleep and peace.

Paulding Humane Society is still #11 in Georgia. I checked the overall rankings though, and today it’s #372 nationwide. Yes, that’s pretty far down; but ISTR it was #433 a few weeks ago so there’s an improvement!
Meanwhile, Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends, Inc., which is at #10 in Georgia, is ranked #327 nationwide. Not so far ahead, really!
Shih Tzu and Furbaby Rescue, who came from behind and pushed Paulding down two slots and out of the Top Ten, is ranked at #323 nationwide.

First time I have a chance to post here in a while - got some medical shit (check the blog for an update) going on right now, and I can’t sit at the the computer for any length of time.
I just wanted to thank you and my other “Kids” for doing what you can for the animals - Paulding or not.
It’s not even June yet, and we have till July 26th to win this thing, so I’m not giving up, even though you aren’t seeing me as much as before. i’m clicking every day, just as y’all are…
Y’all are some of the smartest people in the whole world, so please storm your brains for something we can do to get this shelter some money.
School-kids? Friends? Face-Book? Twitter?
I know the tendency would be to wanna support one’s own shelter, and I’m fine with that - really. I want to help them all too!
Headed back to bed. I’m getting married tomorrow, so I need to not fall down as we’re doing the Vows thang!
