Dopers, We ARE the shit!

I just wanted to take a moment to make everyone here think about how special our little online community is. In the past month, we have demonstrated a real willingness and ability to pull together and get behind one another in times of tradgedy, stress and heartbreak, both real and immagined. Plese, take a moment to realize how unusual this is in todays world, and don’t let trolling/ sock puppetry/ assholes and the like ruin that for us. Don’t let the bad in others take away from the good that we have all created together. I love you all. ( well,…most of you! :p)
Hey, I wrote that and I’m not even drunk! Go figure!

You are welcome.

Ha. Actually, this place does pretty much rock the most. I know it gives my life value and meaning. Well, it mainly keeps me indoors at the computer, so in some way each and every one of you is responsible for my continuing to remain skin cancer free. And for that, I humbly thank you.

Liar, you are so drunk!

Thanks Dave, I dig this place too!
:: Trying to drag myself away from the computer… ::

But you still can’t have my Bud Lite.

::reconsiders::

On second thought, you can, but only because it’s a crappy beer.

Now if I was drinking a Beck’s, OTOH…

That was well-said, dave.

This is the best place on the Web I’ve found. If you know of any better, by all means, let me know.

Gotta agree with you there,Milo. Is it a bad sign when your conversations IRL are dominated by what you did on a message board? Or, is it a good sign that I still have conversations IRL.

I agree. This is an amazing - and quite unique - community we have here. Even the use of the word community is significant.

It was amazing to see everyone pull together when Wally passed on. Small towns IRL would struggle to compete.

We’re very fortunate. Thanks for the friendship and company one and all.

I love this place. Even when bashed about -ahem- indecent things… I thought I was going to leave after all that, but Noooooooo!!! You guys keep dragging me back in by my heels…
-sigh-

how do you get rid of an addiction?

You make yourself engage in the negative behavior A WHOLE LOT until you get plain damn sick of it. It’s sort of like aversion therapy, but not exactly the same.

Based on the skyrocketing post counts of most folks around here, I think a lot of people are attempting this cure.

Is it working?

Fortunately, no!

there could be a disney film about this …

SDMB?!?! Aw crap! I thought this was the Britney Speares message board! Although, now that I think about it, the “fighting ignorance” thing should have tipped me off.

An ancient by the name of SmickD once said “this place is as addictive as caramel covered crack”, and I have to admit I couldn’t put it any better. You all certainly make the long nights go by faster. Thanks.

Now dammit Mully get the hell out and shoot some hoops . . . the Jackets may need another new coach soon.

Yours,

Yep, we have a great little online community here.
You guys ROCK!

Osip

I LOVE YOU, MAN! That is the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.

This board rocks! I haven’t introduced any of my friends to it because I’m selfish and don’t want to share it with them! It’s like a safe haven for me. I share more here with people I’ve never met than I share with my closest friends. That’s got to mean something!! I’ve throughly enjoyed reading and posting on this board and plan to do so for a long time!
